Hi folks. I tried yesterday to upgrade my forum to the latest version. I copied via FTP over the new files and then started the upgrade process. Seemed to go ok, until Step 6. Seems to have got hung up at this step. I let it run overnight and nothing change - the time didn't increment up either. Any suggestions? Do I just try to run it all again?? Appreciate any help or ideas.

Something about the old chat mod breaks the upgrader - we've not been able to cleanly identify what or why. Usual suggestion is to delete the fc tables and rerun the upgrade process.
Holder of controversial views, all of which my own.

Thanks for the info. Where would I find the fc tables to delete them?

At the database that you have used to install your smf forum.

Ok, I deleted all the fc_ tables and ran the Upgrade.php again. It all seemed to work, but now the forum won't come up. It looks like it deleted the upgrade.php file at the end of the process. Is there something more I need to delete or remove? Any help is welcome and appreciated.

Don't worry, we will be back shortly with an updated forum. It will only be a minute ;).

YES!  That did it!!
Is that always something you have to manually change back?

Kindred

no.... normally the upgrade script will reset it when it completes...  maybe you missed a checkbox at the end. :)
