Calendar time Out despite correct time zone?

Hi Support and All,
Just joined and created my first SMF - great kit!
Basically pretty intuitive but one question please.
When I go into Calendar (see to display) and create event, even though the timer zone is set to UTC +8 (Western Australia) the start time shown is 2 hours ahead of the actual start time entered?
