Hi,

We use Admin Approval for new registrations.  In SMF 2.0.14, I would receive the new member notification email, click the link to the profile, then I could choose to click 'Approve', and the new member would be automatically approved.

In SMF 2.1, when I click the 'Approve' link in the new member's profile, I now get taken to the main Members screen, where I have to tick a box then choose from the drop down menu to Approve the new member.

This seems to have introduced an extra bit of faff.  Is there a reason why these new steps have been added, or is there a setting I've missed that allows approval direct from a member's profile?

I'm not completely sure, but I would boldly guess this was changed only because you really should have all your options available for you when dealing with user accounts, and not have SMF just assume your intentions when you click on "Approve". We have seen a fair bit of confusion over this in the past.

The solution would be to either offer all the available options directly in the profile, essentially duplicating functionality that already exists elsewhere, or direct all relevant actions to the proper page with the options already there.

How you can help SMF

Especially as approve from the profile didn't send an email to tell the person they've been approved.

OK, so it has been changed.  At least I now know I'm not going mad or missed something in the settings.

Thanks.   :)
