One of my members ("foreplease") clicked the "You and 3 other people like this" link and received the following warning (see attached). The member in question is not banned, nor has he ever been banned. He clicked around on a few other posts that he has liked with no issues, seems to happen only with this one particular post (that he's been able to find so far). Running SMF 2.1.4.

When I click the link, I see all three people who have liked it. But, as shown in the bug report, it only seems to happen to the member in question.

I know this is a tough one to troubleshoot, and without being able to login as the user in question, it may be pointless to try. But, I thought I'd report the error just for the sake of reporting it.

Could you check your server error logs to see if there are any 40x or 50x errors that would correlate?
I have this nagging feeling I've seen this before, and the ban error message was a red herring, but can not remember specifics.
Also, every time someone gets the "Sorry you are banned" message, it should be logged in the SMF error log or as a hit to the ban trigger at least - Is this?

Unfortunately, I cleared my SMF error logs. I'll ask the user to click the link again to see if he's still receiving the error, and then I'll check my logs.

Well, I guess I can close this report. The user states that the error is gone now. Maybe it was a browser issue because he originally got the error using his desktop client, but re-checked just now using his mobile device. I'm not going to pursue this any further since it appears to be a red herring. Thanks.

Should be mostly fixed in the next patch, this was the PR: https://github.com/SimpleMachines/SMF/pull/7782

Oh! Thank you for that, I had a feeling I'd seen this before but memory failed me, and since the problem was no longer reproducible...

Ah, ok, a stale session would explain why the user is no longer experiencing the issue. Glad it's a known issue and that a fix is coming. Thanks!
