It's random and pretty rare, but that has happened to me once or twice over the years since 2.0.
It'll usually go away on it's own later, give it some time.

Oh yeah..  that's  probably my fault due to..

It was posted,unapproved, in tips and tricks
Where it did not belong
I moved to smf coding
It was still unapproved
I then approved it...

But the coding discussion doesn't have "post approval" defined...

i have seen before if the forum is not active the last post/topic i have read will not get marked read until more posts are made and i go back to the other topic and read/open it.

I've seen this once before, but it's cleared now, apparently after Arantor posted a reply.
