I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but I'm looking for a solution to a predicament I'm having.

I run a forum for voice-actors. For each thread, I attach a project document containing what I want actors to record for me. I'm looking for a system where each actor can express their interest in the document without having to reply to the thread.

So far, enabling Likes seems to be an idea but that may confuse members who actually want to select a topic. Is there a better way to do this? Perhaps a mod of sorts?

I think a very easy way to do this would be to simply rename the likes, instead of it saying "Like" it could say "Interested" for example. All the functionality is there already, it would just be a matter of editing the language files.

EDIT: Now that I think about this, there would still be extra "Interested" buttons on every other post in the topic too. So this could still get confusing.

@CraftyLion I wrote a 'Thanks' mod for SMF 2.1 that is essentially/effectively a clone of the inbuilt 'Likes' system and I've updated the language strings in it so that 'Thank'/'Unthank' has been replaced with 'Interested'/'Not Interested' - this might be the sort of thing you're looking for.

Very Important Note: If you install this mod you will not also be able to install the 'Thanks' mod I wrote - the attached file is effectively a special version of the 'Thanks' mod that I have created for you ...
