At least one member of my forum is unable to log in. He is getting this error (see image)

In case it matters this is the sequence of events leading to this point.

This exchange happened on the forum.

member1:
Quotesince you did the update recently when I login (now), rather than take me to the forum page (as it used to) I now get pushed onto the Home page - really annoying!!!!!
Can this re-direction be stopped please? I much prefer if I'm logging in on the forum page for it to stay on the forum page!

QuoteI noticed the same thing Dave, I figured it was because I'd logged out (somehow - possibly while doing a data clean up) I just click the Forum & she's back to normal.
I never normally actually Log Out though, I just close the window, when I restart it opens on the Forum page.

QuoteNow I do logout each time Col - for sure one can just click on the forum tag, but one never had to do this. Just interested in Mike did it for a reason or if its something he can reset.

QuoteI didn't do it for a reason and it shouldn't have changed as part of the update at all.
I'm not seeing that issue myself.

To clarify you are on this page: https://gsx1400owners.org/forum (not logged in)
You enter your login details and instead of taking you here: https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?action=forum (logged in)
it takes you here: https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php (logged in)

It will log you in at whatever page you are on when you click login.
If that's the home page you stay on the home page
If its the forum page you stay on the forum page.
Make sure it's this one you have book marked:  link

QuoteSaw your response this evening to my query as to why (since the update) instead of going to the forum page, I went to the home page instead - and replaced my URL with the one you suggested (and provided) in your response.

Subsequently, I'm now completely and utterly locked out of the forum and get the following error message. Can't get logged in at all. In fact can't even get the forum to display on either my PC or Apple devices. See attached error message I get.

I seem to recall this happened to a number of us the last time a major update took place.

What info do I have?
I have the members IP address
I have a screenshot of the error (attached)

I have no idea what could be causing it. If it were due to the upgrade surely the inability to log on would be affecting everyone/lots of people?

I'm not sure about BitNinja. I'm not using that service personally however it's possible this might be something my host has in place. Maybe. perhaps.

Guidance would be very welcome! Thanks

edit: It appears BitNinja is in use by my host so I am also checking with them.

Is the login taking people to the forum home page rather than forum boards page some new behaviour with 2.6 or...?

Yeah, talk to your host. BitNinja is server security software. I'm not really familiar with it, but a quick google tells me it has a Web Application Firewall, which is probably at fault here.

OK pending that - the member has just told me he's not getting that now - he is getting the following (attached) instead.

(It's timing out for some reason)

Yeah, just like I thought. WAF = Web Application Firewall, which in plain English is a system that tries hard to guess what an attack might look like, and then stops it. I'm not really a fan of these. They are too generic, and prone to mistakes.
