SMF 1.1 RC2 + Joomla 1.0.5 + Communitybilder 1.0 RC2

How do those three matters get to operate together?
I read that in the joomla 1.0.5 version and CB 1.0 RC2 would be some disturbance...?
I would like to use a bit wider registration and as the SMF 1.1 RC2 forum my joomla 1.0.5 site.

How those three matters get to operate between?
Joomla (aka3.20) bridge versions is not property in which could to use CB registration...how that sort of could to build?
Sorry my bad english...

Kindred

once again...   the 3.20 bridge will add a user into the CB table, if you tell it to...   that's about it.

How to this would get bridge to the version would get such kind of property that the admin self can could to select using  registration form?
CB is wider orginal registration form as in the current bridge in the version.
Current bridge the registration form of the version is CB model but much briefer. Was fine job if admin can could to select these three from the between of the different registration form what form wants to use.

How this kind could to build?

Kindred

ok... I am making assumptions because your English is not very clear.

1- You want to use the CB registration and login module instead of the bridge registration and login module

Answer:  No, you can not currently do this.

2- You think that CB has more options than the SMF or Bridge registration...

Answer:  Although that may be true out of the box, adding additional profile and registration fields to SMF is moderately easy, and in my opinion a better way to work, since all the forum posts, etc are linked to the SMF profile.

3- You wonder if anyone has made or is planning to make a merge between CB and the SMF Bridge.

Answer: To the best of my knoweldge, no.  Some people have expressed an interest, but when it comes down to it, they want someone else to write it for them, and most of the people who are doing the bridge (Orstio) or modules for the bridge (myself, Chadness, others) have no interest in CB at this point. This is not to say that people at SMF are "against the Community Builder" it is merely a statement that none of us have a desire to do this at this time.
No one has currently stepped up to write such a component.

Right now, the 3.20 version of the bridge will enter your user's information into the CB tables, after they register/login.  You can not use the CB login or registration modules because those will not log into the SMF portion of the bridge.

Two things,

First Joomla 1.0.5 introduced modified database functions... Currently 1.0.5 and CB 1.0RC2 don't work together UNLESS you upload database.php from 1.0.4 into the 1.0.5 includes directory... You can find out more about this on Joomlapolis.com [nofollow] or Joomla.org [nofollow] (as I think it affected other 3PD programs as well)  They changed some basic methods to use their functions... I expect that CB might release an updated version after Joomla 1.1 comes out (but that is just my opinion and I have nothing to base that on)..

Second,  I was involved in some posts last month about creating a CB plugin for SMF.  I still have this on my "to due" pile but at the moment many other things are taking my time... so it may be a while.  CB's plugin architecture is going to be very nice for implementing a plugin/bridge.  I have been deeply involved in making a similar plugin for another bb.  Once that clears out and the other things die down... I hope to modify it to work with SMF (as I like their search feature better).

So I think Kindred is correct in that nobody is working on a CB/SMF plugin or bridge.. at least that I know of...   Assuming nobody beats me to it I plan to start one... but by all means if someone wants to start it let me know and I can share the code for the other plugin and it should be fairly simple to see how to hook it up to SMF (PHP coding required and probably dig up an older post from Orstio).

Hope this helps,
Greg

Dear madamex, maybe you can share your experiences on how to modify SMF registration form in Finnish Joomla! support site http://www.joomlaportal.fi
