I am using SMF 1.1.11. I downloaded ad mod and have been using it with Google ad sense ads. The leader board ads work fine at any location horizontally. None of the ads placed on the left or right of the forum as a skyscraper show up. Has any one else had this problem and it there a way to fix it?

Okay, I am determined to get this ad mod for my site. I tried installing it a few months ago and failed miserably every time. But since then, I think I've learned some things and might be able to understand what people are telling me to do this time for help.

I am currently running smf 1.1.11 and am using my own theme.

I downloaded the zip file and extracted the files.

Before I get started on this long process I want to make sure I know exactly what I am doing first, so that I don't repeat what happened to me last time, which is crashing my forum and having to reinstall it.

The next step in the process is to do the file edits. This is the easy part for me, even though it takes a long time.

The problem I am having is that I still don't understand what to do with the install.php file. I do not understand the code and execute standalone stuff. So, where do I put the install.php file? What do I do with it once I have it there?

The third step is to upload the files to my server which is also easy.

If someone can just please help me understand what to do with the install.php that would be great. Also, will this work with my own theme? Thank you.

Copy install.php to the root directory of your forum then run it via the browser.

It should be done then it just creates database tables and settings for the mod

Okay. So I've uploaded it to the forum's root directory and clicked install.php. It opened a new tab but the screen is blank. It seems to have done nothing.

I want to thank you for your help. You gave me similar help a few months ago, but I was too much of a noob to understand what the heck you were talking about. Thank you again for all of your help. I can't wait to get this mod started!

Okay. So, the ads seem to work in a few places but not in others.

One problem I seem to have now is that the very first post is missing in all of my topics. Only the replies are showing up. For topics with no replies, it is just blank.

Also, my tower ads on the left and right seem to not work. Do I need to adjust something to give it room?

The mod adds its setting in the Admin Panel. Can you provide some more details please, such as what is the default language of your forum, what style are using?

Yes. I've disabled all of the ads to see if the problem disappeared. It hasn't. The problem persists.

Well, it may not be that causing the issue then, before we can start getting solutions we need to determine what is causing the issues, just for the sake of ruling this mod out, for a moment, disable ads completely, then check again, if the problem still occurs, I would recommend stating that at the Support board you started at, and mention that the mod has been ruled out already. Then list all the mods you have installed there too.
