It seems someone has oddly removed it.

Either way, for future users:

That is the link to it. The version you want to download for SMF 2.x is the one currently called "ad_mod_v3.0_SMF_v2-0.zip". Be aware that although the filename claims it is version 3.0, it is actually version 3.0.1, just like the SMF 1.x version.

Is this a feature you would consider coding in to this mod ?

Technically the Ad Management mod just displays ads that you create, so this should already be possible either through code that is placed alongside the displaying mechanism's code, or through separate modifications to your forum.

It is a pretty cool idea, though!

So maybe aside from a diff modification you mean trying to just add the section targeting code in with the ad code itself ?

Either way it like you said is a cool idea.

Exactly. I haven't used the mod or it's code myself, so I'm not sure how compatible it is with this mod...but it's always worth a try! :)

Well maybe when one of the authors comes on they can shed some light on this sbecause section targeting is something I'd like to use with my adsense code and from what I read. Google recomends section targeting.

I just installed this last night on a 2.0.4 forum so you must have gotten a corrupt download or something.

Re-download the package again. It works with the latest version just fine.

I downloaded the ad_mod_v3.0_SMF_v2-0.zip  and uploaded it to my test site which is (dir003). It loaded but the failed results were as follows:

You will notice that although I uploaded the Ad management mod to my test (dir003) it shows that it's going into my live site (dir001)

Also the 'Curve theme' is the one I'm using which is the lastest smf theme, and not the core theme.

Where am I going wrong?

Arantor

All it's saying is that it couldn't make the changes to the old core theme. If you're not using it, it doesn't really matter.

As for 'live' vs 'test', clearly your test site has some of the configuration of the live site in it.
Holder of controversial views, all of which my own.

You grabbed the SMF 1.0 package, but you're using SMF 2.0. You need the other one. ;)

Edit: Nevermind. Seems you edited your post to change the version number later on. Disregard this.

You hit the nail on the head. I installed a fresh smf forum, uploaded the Ad management mod and it worked fine. Then I populated it with my live forum sql with all the members, posts and structure. Installing the sql broke the forum!

I don't want to lose the members, messages or the structure so I have to find a way to transfer my live sql to my test site somehow.

Yes I did SugarD-x, sorry for that. I had copied and pasted the wrong information.

you can't just copy the sql tables without making some modification. there are urls and paths stored in the database...   so, when you make a test site, you have to correct all of the settings.

However....   if it's a test site, what does it matter if all of you users and messages form the live site make it down there? it's a test site.....   use general test data

I'm using the test site as an intermediary site so that I can make the test site live when all is working well. I do understand that the url's and paths are not the same until I change them using the settings in the Admin section. I have one other test site where I test and don't bother with paths and urls.

Thanks for your input.

Each membergroup needs to have it enabled in their General Permissions. You also need to make sure ads are not disabled in the mod's settings itself.

rudeman

i think i have checked all settings  , can you tell me once again what has to be done  ? and from where if have to enable the changes ,
i can also edit in database directly if required so you can tell me any way you have to do so .

Edit your membergroups and make sure all of them have the option of displaying ads turned on. Then access the Ad Management mod's settings from the Admin section, and make sure it's settings doesn't have "Disable Ads" selected.
