If you wish to use non-english languages you will need to modify this and a lot of other mods to support them (mainly working on modifications.{language}.php files but a number of other files can come into play in certsin mods)...then you might have use for utf8 support but if you run an English language forum then there are no downsides to making the above change.

I just created a forum and I am trying to install the ad mod. I have had no luck installing the mod though. I got the files uploaded and this is the message that appears when I go to the install.php url:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: db_query() in /homepages/4/d172544524/htdocs/messageboard/install.php on line 6

I don't have a clue what is going wrong. I am about to pull my hair out.

Is there a way to display ads only when members visit specific pages?

For example, I know that it's possible to display ads on specific boards, but I don't know how to only display ads for specific actions.
Take this for example: http://www.daxueyingyu.com/forum/index.php?action=stats

So maybe I'd only like to display ads on the stats page, or some other action. What I'd like to do is display ads when the action=chat, but I don't know how to achieve this, or if it is even possible using this mod.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you wanted to show ads on the stats page only they would have to be hard-coded into the stats.template.php file as the ad mod can not display ads for JUST certain actions.

Hmm, I just installed it through the package manager.

If I remember correctly there were some problems due to conflicts with other mods which meant that I had to manually edit some files though. You can use a parser to let you know what you have to edit.

This mod would be perfect if it had rotation included. Is it likely to happen in future versions?

um.. i thought i did rotate ads ?

It rotates them when you refresh the page. Some people like the banners to rotate without the refresh...which this mod won't do.

Yeah my bad, it does.

I have two ads setup and I thought if I activated both of them they'd both show up at the same time but it does actually alternate which is great

i just installed the smf ads yesterday... and honestly its a great mod...

but im not sure if there is an image or what value needs to show up for the reports section... nothing is showing for me... ive attached a screen shot... please help !

i am using a minimally modified default theme but... i cant seem to get ads to show in certain parts of my forum  (the ones listed below):

Display ads on every page right below the menu
Display ads on every page on the top of the page
Display ads in the welcome user area (where is the welcome user area exactly?)
Display ads on the bottom of the page
Display ads on every page as a tower on the left side  (does it need to be in a skyscraper format? because i was using a banner to test this)
