joomla bridge - duplicate html tags

If we install the joomla bridge. do we still need to remove the <body><html> tags? The faq mentions removing the duplicate css, but nothing about html tags, doctype declarations etc etc

You don't have to for things to work, because most modern browsers can handle things, but you really should.
