Grab a single message using SSI.
Mod written by Cheschire.
Usage: ssi_grabMessage($message_id=?)

To view an example go to: www.domain.tld/forumfolder/ssi_examples.php
You must first install the mod to view the example

Is there any information on how this mod works as I have installed it only to find the link to the example doesnt work

the example is in ssi_examples.php when you install the mod.
i dont have a forum up and running with it installed on though.
what it does is return a topic of your choosing, all you do is put ssi_grabMessage(1). where 1 is the ID of the topic

I'm using this mod. Working fine, but i want to link messages from a private board. How can i do this so that guests can see it?

jerm

users can only see topics that they have access to.

NaNx

I know. Is there a way around this?
Without giving them access to that board

Ok then, thanks. I'm sure there is a way but it's probably complex so nevermind about it.

Harro

I'm having a problem with this.
I want to return the value of this as an array, but it doesn't seem to return anything.
Am calling it like this:
$arrMessage = ssi_grabMessage($messageID, 'array');

Already verified that $messageID is not null.

And then display it like this:
echo '<b> '. $arrMessage['subject'] .'</b>';
But nothing is displayed...

I just upgraded to RC3, and tried to load the grabMessage Mod.  It didn't change the SSI.php file, so I manually added the code from the xml file.
I want to use the function in an shtml file, but can't seem to get it to work.  I can get other includes to work, so it must either be my syntax, or grabMessage has an issue with RC3.
Can someone help?

The mod worked fine on RC3 until I upgraded to mySQL5.

Please help! My site lives for this mod.

I fixed it.

Find:
FROM {$db_prefix}topics AS t, {$db_prefix}messages AS m, {$db_prefix}boards as b

Replace:
FROM ({$db_prefix}topics AS t, {$db_prefix}messages AS m, {$db_prefix}boards as b)

Can you refresh the package with mark's fix please?

fir3x

can someone give me guidance on how i can tweak this to ignore the member status, i wish to show it to all and not be restricted by forum permissions

Apologies, I didn't seem to get a notification for this post. Package is updated, and I'll look at the permission change you'd like and see what I can do.
