Bruv, sign in and go to your ACP (admn.), visit the packages, click on the 'Download Packages' and where i t says Add Server, insert this in the URL: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/.  Click add server and you've just got a link to browse through all the mods.

Now to install the AD mode, browse the mods and find the AD MOD, click on the download link in the ad mod section. This will download and test it then just click on the install link and you're done.

Afterwards, you would see The Ad Management link under the Configuration in the ACP. You can then ADD, Edit and Manipulate your Ads there.

I do not see any AD MOD when I follow these instructions. I am using 2.0 RC2

Could you please explain in "baby steps" or point me to somewhere that does?

Thanks
William

The mod in question is here: Ad Management mod

I don't think it's been updated for RC2 yet though (please note this thread is actually over a year old)

Ah, thanks.

Is there a way to add ADs at all for RC2 ?

You can edit it manually as we did here, or you could wait for the mod author to update the mod to RC2. It's only been a day and a half since RC2 was publicly released; most authors have not yet had time to fully update complex mods.

Thanks. Perhaps I should contact the developer and ask...

Or perhaps you might teach me how?

We have server-side PHP ads installed into all our pages on our other sites.

Which page, exactly do you want it on? That reflects where in the PHP I show you where to edit. But you are strongly recommended to wait for the developer to update his mod.

We are going to run the Core Theme for now, so...

I had another go at this...

Sorry, but I do NOT see the "install link" mentioned above.

After downloading, I click "browse" in my packages list, and I do see this:

You won't see the install link for the Ad Management mod because it hasn't been updated for 2.0 RC2 yet; the package manager checks before offering you the install button.

Note that the post you quoted is also a year old.

Not really since the package needs a serious overhaul for 2.0 RC2.
