So did anyone figure out the attachment problem?  I keep getting an error when i try to upload big files (around 10mb).  I changed all of the settings in the smf administration panel to increase the web space.

First off, check your SMF settings for the post limits. Once sure that it is OK (I think it is actually bytes there, not kilobytes although it says so!!).

Then open MediaCenter.php in sources, and just below

<?php

add:

ini_set( 'memory_limit', '20M' );

That fixed my memoryproblem. Also have a look at the httpd.error-log to see what it reports there.

I did that, but I still get this error:

QuoteYour attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.

Please consult your server administrator for more information.

The log is probably in /var/log/httpd

You need shell access to see it.

Or you could just ask your service provider for "the apache error logs for the past two days".

*sighs*

I couldn't resist. I figure it will make a nice addition to the forum so I added it. Permissions then gave me a parse error, expecting a ) and getting a , was the issue. (It was on line 1367 in ManagePermissions in Sources.) So I cracked open my handy dandy FTP app, navigated over, and found the offending comma and removed it. I think it was burping due to the Spider/Google mod being there.

It worked. SMF version 1.1.2 which, well, isn't what it was listed to work with anyhow but... That sort of silliness hasn't ever stopped me before.

I am just posting this to let people know that if they get this error that it is probably just a comma that is out of place or added somewhere along the lines and that chopping it out fixes you right up.

SMF vs. Godzilla? Who do you think will win?

hi,

i love this mod...but can i know more ideas and suggestions on how to use it wisely?

we, as a forum owner, is impossible to let user upload the music and video to our server because we don't manage to provide so much hosting space (unless we are rich and manage to buy a BIG capacity web hosting space)...

so, any opinion to share with me?

Then the wise thing is to not install it. It is specifically for local content.

i would like to modify it to personel media center.....list out all the attachment that have attached in forum.....but still don't know how to do....

Add the userid as a new parameter in the link you call the mediacenter with. Then use that parameter to filter bu userid (in the WHERE-clause). That way you could (for instance) have a link in each profile to each users "personal" mediacenter.

I don't think I'm the one to do that right now.  I just finished reading "PHP and MySQL for Dummies," but give me a month or so.
