can't see any graphics on remote client when accessing the forum

hi all,

i installed the SMF forum, and it works great on the localhost.
my problem is when i connect to the forum from a remote browser, i don't see any pictures or graphics (borders, colors...).

i installed the SMF on / using XAMPP. when i connect to the XAMPP from the same remote browser i can see graphics.
this is why i think there's something wrong with my SMF configuration.
