Are you on english utf8? If so change it to plaine english. Admin - Server Settings - Language
How does this idiotic one do that? ALl I see is the options for English, Dutch, German, Spanish... or am I doing something wrong?

shadow82x

Make sure it's set to just "english"

under server settings.

Just plain old English... any other ideas?

shadow82x

For each theme via FTP you can create a new folder called languages and put in post.english.php from your default theme than chmod it,

Each theme is FTP/THEMES/THEME NAME

Okay, chmod always confuses me. Mainly because deep in my heart I do not in any way love programming. I only delve in to this to make my forum better. :-0 Seriously, can you walk me thru this? Like exactly what to do?

shadow82x

once you create the folder and add the file for each one in FTP you can usually right click and choose properties or chmod than make sure it's 777.

Did that. It still doesn't show the boxes. Nada.

shadow82x

Than try chmoding both the folder/post.english.php to 755. Make sure you do this for all themes.

what, add the languages folder and post.english file? I really only use one theme... I don't like it, but haven't really found one that works well for me. Ack and too damn hard to modify :-( Anyway... can I just do the one folder and file or at most the default and file?

sturmkatze

Crap, I just went and looked and it didn't take the chmod. I tried again and it keeps going back. What am I doing wrong there? Never had that prob before.

shadow82x

Yeah you can just do it for that theme. It appears your missing language files if that happens.

Your error is a variant on the most common error of all those reported on these pages...it tells you that another mod you have installed has already edited the file in question and that you thus need to do a manual installation of this mod. Please read:
