I am stumped by the recent issues i am having with my forum!

After logging in the browser Both IE7 & Firefox attempt to load the forum but it seems to hang then i just get a white screen as if the process has timed out, but with no error messages?

my forum can be found here http://www.pattayabargirls.com/invision/index.php

Could any one please be so kind as to kindly offer me some avice or assistance in fixing this problem?

thank you
Merry Xmas

Edit: fixed the forum link.

Is it a fresh install?

Did you follow the install instructions that came with MKP fully?

Scanlite

Hi Teo

Thank you very much for your very quick reponse! "Much Appreciated"

No it's not a fresh install! & has been working great until now!
I have not added any packages or anything lately which makes even more difficult to understand what is causing this all of a sudden!

Scanlite

Just noticed this in error logs?

could this possibly be the cause of my troubles?

Hi Sarge!
I checked those settings you suggested & all are set correctly now!

the only one that needed changing was the "Use subdomain independent cookies - checked" (ticked)

doesn't seem to have rectified the problem though i'm afraid! But thank you for your advice anyway!

I am beginning to think it may be a better option to upload SM4 1.1.4 again overwriting the current files with fresh ones then use the "Repair_Settings.php file to fix my paths etc.

As i want to maintain my categories/boards structure/current database etc! i obviously wouldn't be using the install.php script>

should i decide this is the way to go!
which current files should i not overwrite???

settings.php
settings_bak.php
any others that i should not change??

Sarge

Upload all files from the SMF 1.1.4 Large Upgrade package, except upgrade.php and the two .sql files. This way the forum will have fresh files. Note that all mods will be removed from the files, but their settings and data in the database should remain intact. Upgrade.php (and executing it) isn't needed, since you already have a current (1.1.4) database.

To avoid having database problems caused by mods, I suggest uninstalling them (but not deleting them), if you can, before refreshing the SMF files. You can reinstall (re-apply) those mods after the file refresh.

Let us know how it goes. :)

Well sad to say Sarge

Even after following your advice to the letter, Still have exactly the same problem mate!

Have deleted cookies from my browsers as well as deleting the cache in the browsers, still nothing changes!

I am all out of idea's?

Do you have access to the webserver's error log? I'd check that to see if any errors are being through (perhaps a php error).

If you have cPanel, you can go to 'error log' inside of it and check :)

Sarge

Create an SMF admin account from Admin > Registration and PM me the login info. I can try to see if there's anything wrong in the SMF configuration.

Have sent you a pm with the account details mate!

Scanlite

Didn't you find anything noticeably wrong Sarge?

It's got me beat mate thats for sure!

Scanlite

"SOLVED"

Thanks to everyone especially Sarge for attempting to help me with this problem!

Finally found the solution! DISABLE THE CALENDER

Thanks to this threadhttp://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=213284.0a fellow member posted & his follow up i was able to check if i was suffering from the same issue!

I disabled the calender & that has solved my login problems!

Now just need to find out what the issue is with the calender!

Seems odd that 2 smf forums hosted with different providers suffered the same issue in the space of a few hours!

I have a feeling this could have been a deliberate malicious act by someone!

You guys here at SMF should perhaps take a look at this!

anyway for now i am very happy my forum is operating & functional to members once again, albeit minus the calender!
