Hi, although all i really know what to do in PHP is connect to a Data Base im going to try and make a theme, im just asking if there are any particular hard bits.  :)

The_Altered1

Having the determination to even try and make a theme for the first time is a major big step. I congratulate you. As with anything new, there will always be hurdles. This forum has great support and a very active community to boot. So if you run in to anything that you have a problem with, help is not far off.

Congrats once again, your on your way.........and the great part is that you have chosen the best board to start on.  8)

Thank  ;D

Its not easy getting the colours right or the images for that matter, it may take a while.

webguy

I want to join, but I can't see myself getting a theme done in one month.

If there are enough requests, or even just mine, would a consideration for a small say 1 weej extension be out of line?

Thanks.

P.S
this forum looks really good.
I haven't yet installed it, but reading about the features, the buble theme- extremely cool!, the fact that it's free and more has me eager to try it out.

Thanks for making it free software :)

webguy

whoops.
Just realised that asking for an extension is totally unfair.

Sorry.
I'll get done what I can, I've no problem releasing a theme after the contest is over :)

Well, if someone comes up with a theme that's really awesome the day after, we can't really say "too bad person who got 1st, this guy's is late but better..."

Sorry.... but, you're right, wouldn't be too fair to those working already.  If this goes well, and we hold another contest, hopefully that time you can start early ;).

SOLD my website - thanks it was a good run - they converted to vbadvanced. (and screwed it up good!)

I'd be willing to trade my prize in for the right to clean up the block of text that includes the copyright. :-)

is this considered an entry?

Not yet. You must email a zip of the full theme files to the submission email address (see 1st post). Read the contest rules well to make sure your submission is valid.

You can discuss this *after* you have won a prize. This neither the right place nor the right time to discuss such a question. The contest rules cannot be changed here.

Max Shanly

I am looking for a Theme Partner, I need some one to help me code whilst I'll make the Graphics.

Is this allowed [Unknown]?

Max|Linspired

[Unknown]

You'll only get a single prize...

-[Unknown]

Oldiesmann

Yes, but we will only award one prize as [Unknown] said - regardless of how many people worked on a theme. So before you ask someone to help you it's a good idea to work out what you would do if you were to win, so there are no misunderstandings or hurt feelings if you do win.

Getting closer to the deadline...... October 31st.

Hm...I'll have to try. I probably won't win, since this'll be my first skin for SMF I'll have to go and edit a currently existing one to how I like it, since I'm not sure of all the tags. Can we make themes based on actual games? I promise I'll put the copyright for the game somewhere...in small text...:P

Current Projects - Simplified Gaming Template is 40% done!

[Unknown]

As long as you're not infringing copyrights, etc... it's fine.  IF they could sue you for making the theme, I'm afraid we can't take it.

-[Unknown]

c0Ld

Nah, theres themes for invision, phpbb, etc. Just talking about starcraft, they enjoy the advertisement.

Holy CRAP why didn't you guys PM people about this! I just read this and MAN am I gonna make the wildest theme. 100$ WTF thats sweet! what if the person who creates a theme doesn't have a credit card or will you send a check??? MUHOAHAHAHA. I will need to put my Cinema 4D (3d program) in work for this one!.

AMA GET OUTTA MY WAYYYYYYYY (lol, joking).

Btw I don't think making polls is such a good idea, after all people can just change their IPs and vote again and again for their theme!

Lets all take a momment to thank Mr. Unknown.

Done :).
