protonxl

i had done it thru htaccess but it didnt work..
had to contact host and ask them to turn it off..
it works now..

hey is there a plugin for this one where it has   << Previous   and Next >> buttons ?

mashby

How could I sort the images in gallery based on a calculation (average rating)? Something like this where p.totalratings is the calculation.
case 'mostrated':

$sortby = 'p.totalratings';

break;

Also, what's the difference between sortby and sortby2?
Thanks,
mashby

notting

I have had a lot of success with this mod and think it is great.

However I have just moved my site to a new server and it have broken the mod. The rest of the forum works fine.

There are two errors as far as i can tell:

1)  The message:

Warning Gallery path is not writable!

Appears in this page: http://theafricangreyparrot.com/forum/index.php?action=gallery;cat=1

2) When you click on a thumbnail of a picture, instead of going to the regular size image on the next page it throws up this page:

http://theafricangreyparrot.com/forum/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=519

With the error message:

Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /forum/index.php could not be found on this server.

Perhaps I have overlooked something or maybe i will have to reinstall the mod. Note: when I go to uninstall the mod it throws up errors and advises against uninstalling the mod.

Thanks
Notting

1. You need to change the Gallery path under Gallery configuration

2. Is an issue with mod_security disable mod_security and it will work.

SMF version: 1.1.5

Theme: CS Classic / serv Ramadhan

Default Forum Language: English

All Permissions have been set:

I left settings in "Gallery Configuration" the same

Manage Categories, I added my categories

I am not getting any error message, the gallery is just not showing up anywhere. I have no tab or anything for it.

I should add that the only theme in which is showing a tab for the gallery is the default.

You'll have to edit the index.template.php file for the CS Classic theme. Are you familiar with how to do this?

lol not at all...sorry

If you can attach it to a post and provide a link to your site, I'd be happy to help you out. I'm also assuming you can FTP to your site?

I do everything on my test forum first before applying it to my actual forums, just incase something gets messed up. So here is the link to my test forum. http://group.amothersluv.org/playgroup/index.php

Edit Theme - index.template.php
Beginning on line 1:

<?php
// Version: 1.1; index

/*   This template is, perhaps, the most important template in the theme. It
   contains the maintemplate layer that displays the header and footer of
   the forum, namely with main_above and main_below. It also contains the
   menu sub template, which appropriately displays the menu; the init sub
   template, which is there to set the theme up; (init can be missing.) and
   the linktree sub template, which sorts out the link tree.

   The init sub template should load any data and set any hardcoded options.

   The main_above sub template is what is shown above the main content, and
   should contain anything that should be shown up there.

   The main_below sub template, conversely, is shown after the main content.
   It should probably contain the copyright statement and some other things.

   The linktree sub template should display the link tree, using the data
   in the $context['linktree'] variable.

   The menu sub template should display all the relevant buttons the user
   wants and or needs.

Add this in the place you want your gallery button to appear (the button/tab code is just below the code above:
// the [SMF Gallery] button
if ($context['allow_smfgallery_view'])
         echo ($current_action == 'gallery' || $context['browser']['is_ie4']) ? ' ' : '' , '<a href="', $scripturl, '?action=gallery">Gallery</a>' , $current_action == 'gallery' ? ' ' : '';

I did this but there is still not tab indicating gallery. The only time I am still getting this tab is when I am in the default theme. There is another theme that I wouldn't mid using however, I too cannot seem to get the tab on ... that and I am trying to find a way to get rid of some of the graphics in it. Anyway, I am not able to get the gallery tab on this theme (cs classic).

I'm pretty sure I asked this question before, but I can't seem to find my post. I installed this mod, works great. Got it working on all my themes, but one is a little tricky. I got the button installed, but it's a different color, and is hovering a bit above where it should be.

Constructing the button on the index is different for every theme. This modification was designed to add a button to the default theme. Not custom themes. Sometimes, custom themes use the same makeup as the default theme, so porting between the two themes would be easier.

Look in your index.template.php file, and find each button call (you'll see a "//" with text after it for each button.) Copy the "home" button, and past it after any button you wish. Then replace all instances of "home" with "gallery" in the copied text.

Check that the path and url are correct under Gallery configuration.

And that the files of uploaded pictures exist in the gallery folder.
