I have been having a couple of problems with some Mods I downloaded - The creators and I are trying to fix them.

One of the creators told me to use my packager perser - which I am assuming is in the Custom Actions section -

This is the error I get when I try to access that area:

Fatal error: modifyactionsettings(): Failed opening required '/home/content/a/c/u/acuityitc/html/makethatdollar/Sources/CustomAction.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/content/a/c/u/acuityitc/html/makethatdollar/Sources/ModSettings.php on line 386

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  My Forum is in Maintenance Mode right now because none of the existing posts can be accessed.

Thanks in advance.

Is the CustomAction.php file in the Sources directory. ??? Have all the required edits been done to all the files if you are using a custom theme. ??? This is a package parser; it is used to show the manual edits that need to be done to install a mod on a custom theme or if you are having problems. The mod site has a parse button underneath each mod.

I did not set this forum up - it was acquired from someone else - so I am learning as I am doing.

Where do I find the Sources directory?

I am not using a custom theme - I am using Core

Is the parser button on the Mod Site the little green button next to the download?  If so, I clicked on it and nothing happens.

I clicked on your Parse link and clicked on uninstall for the ThumbsUp mod and it gave me a huge list of things to edit and delete - but again, I don't know where to find these directories.

I'm sorry if I sound ignorant, but like I said - I'm learning.  Once I do something once, there shouldn't be any of the same issues.  Its the first time, at least with this situation, that is driving me nuts!!  lol :)

Thanks for your patience.  O:)

Bigguy

All the directories are going to be located where ever you installed SMF.

NYChamps

I never installed anything....I am running the forum for someone - I was a member of the forum so I just accessed it and then I was given Admin permissions....

am I dead in the water?????  lol

Bigguy

Is the custom actions mod installed under the packages area of the admin panel. ???

NYChamps

Got it all squared away Bigguy!  Thanks soooo much for all your help - this should not happen again!  lol  ;D

NYChamps

I may have spoken too soon.

Got my posts back but in trying to access Features and Options I get this error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected ',' in /home/content/a/c/u/acuityitc/html/makethatdollar/Sources/ModSettings.php on line 164

I have been to line 164 more than once (my eyes were tired  lol) and I cannot find an unexpected "," anywhere?

Any suggestions?

Update:

Somehow I was able to get rid of the first error code now I have this one:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /home/content/a/c/u/acuityitc/html/makethatdollar/Sources/ModSettings.php on line 196

HELP!!!

Bigguy

Have you been uninstalling mods to get this far. ??? If you have uninstall another and see what happens. Obviously these are mods that are fouling up that file. The easy solution would be to replace the file.

NYChamps

Yes I have...I installed 5 of them and 3 of them worked fine and 2 of them caused problems.  I've been working on getting the other 2 out - even though I uninstalled both of them there were still files hanging around in the ModSettings.  I manually deleted them.

I just uninstalled and deleted another mod and now the message says:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /home/content/a/c/u/acuityitc/html/makethatdollar/Sources/ModSettings.php on line 190

So, same message, just a different line.  ??? ???

Bigguy

Keep going uninstalling mods if you can't replace the file. Keep in mind if you CAN replace that file then the errors should stop but there will be no settings for any other mod that edits that file.

NYChamps

I have uninstalled everything that has been installed over the past couple of days - including the 1.1.5 upgrade.

Message is still there.

The only mods left are the ones that have been there since the beginning.

Should I delete the ones I uninstalled as well?

Thanks again for your patience and help Bigguy  O:)

He can't post it thats why we are trying to solve this a different way. ;)

NYChamps

I'm still getting this code:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /home/content/a/c/u/acuityitc/html/makethatdollar/Sources/ModSettings.php on line 190

what exactly do you want me to post, the entire ModSettings.php???? is that wise to post in a public forum?  just being cautious.

Well I kept uninstalling mods one at a time.  When I got to the adsense one and uninstalled it I got this message and I cannot utilize any part of the forum or admin panel.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: showarsads() in /home/content/a/c/u/acuityitc/html/makethatdollar/Sources/Load.php(1728) : eval()'d code on line 342

I go to Sources/Load.php but I don't see anything about 1728 or any of the rest of it......

Frustrated doesn't even come close to describing me right now!   >:(

What do I need to post to get this all cleared up?

****I still have the above code but right now the only code showing is:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in /home/content/a/c/u/acuityitc/html/makethatdollar/Sources/Load.php on line 397

and everytime I fix it another one comes up on the next line or two lines down -

I'm going to stop trying because I think I am making everything worse -

Tell me what you need to help me through this and I will post it right away

The entire forum is down and all I have is a white page with the latest code on it.   :'( :'( :'(

Bigguy

Do you have access to the sites cpanel. ???

NYChamps

#18
If you mean the Admin Control Panel on the Forum?  Nope, all I have is the white page with the code....can't go anywhere from there, but I can get to the root file.

If you click on my site you will see what I mean.

Site name by the way is  www.makethatdollar.net

Bigguy

No I meant do you have access to the host control panel.
