Bad news

Installed fresh smf2 installation in different path on different prefix (smf2_) on the same database. Then i ran the reapir, and changed the prefix to the  smf_

Try to run the forum, the same error i get - 500 Internal Server Error

That means that the problem is in the database? What can i try next?

It may not be the database though this could be something the host has done (trust me alot of hosts are clueless).  Back up your old forum and start a fresh one from scratch and see what happens

New forum with a new database is working .. (the one with one topic of greetings)

Have you tried the old database with the new install now ?

Ye, like i said, i installed a new forum. it worked, didnt try to post there, but i could view it. Then, with repair tool, i changed the database to the old one. the one that did not work (current).

And i did get the same "500" error

And you never had any backups of the database before this?

jazz1

No, i recently convereted it from AEF and didnt think to make a back up yet ..  :-\

jazz1

But, i have a back up from 115 version of the smf .. i think the one that was created when upgrated to smf2.

With the suffix backup_smf_ (or something like this).

Any ideas on what can i try? May be partially restore the messages? May be i can try to run it on other server and then see if its works there and so move to other host?

may be somebody can provide me a host for a day or so?

jazz1

Just tried to istall the smf115 with the backuped database and it worked fine!   ::)

So now I'm not sure that the problem is in database ..

jazz1

Tried to upgrade it to smf2, got this:

Notice: Undefined offset: 0 in /mnt/w0503/d38/s17/b02d1147/www/hikingbike.net/smf115/upgrade.php on line 1326

Warning: Division by zero in /mnt/w0503/d38/s17/b02d1147/www/hikingbike.net/smf115/upgrade.php on line 1327

Is there a possibility to start a new fresh smf, but to transfer the users (members) from last database?

jazz1

found this: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=253207.0

Is it correct for SMF2? that i can only transfer one table: smf_members ?

Thnaks

OK, the forum is working!

In mysql  find this:

Quote
SQL-query :

PMA_mysql_list_fields(
d60464353, smf_log_activity
)

MySQL said:

Table './d60464353/smf_log_activity' is marked as crashed and last (automatic?) repair failed

Ran this:

Quote
REPAIR TABLE smf_log_activity

And it fixed the table. And the forum is back.

Thanks for your help!  :)
