I'm running a brand new fresh install of Mambo 4.5.1 and SMF, both installed just off the www root.

Installed 'com_smf_rc2.zip' into Mambo, modified the config.smf.php to set the SMF path (it seemed to need an aboslute path) and added a Forums component item to the main menu, but when you click on the Forums link in the menu you get the message shown below.

The URL, the link is going to looks okay and SMF and Mambo both work fine independently of each other so I'm a bit stuck - apologies if this has been asked before, I did search but couldn't locate anything.

Cheers, Ross.

Ah, found this reference to this problem:-

...so I guess I'll try using a single database.

Odd though - I thought rc2 could handle separate databases?

Orstio

The bridge can handle multiple databases, but both databases must use the same username and password.

Thanks for the advice.

I tried that, but had the same problem - in the end the only way I could fix it was to use a single database for mambo and smf.
