Check your language settings. Under Admin -> Server Settings

The language should be set to English and not english utf8

Unfortunately, my forum is... in spanish.

I've tried in english, and yes, the gallery manager option shows up.
But no in spanish.

I've copied files starting with gallery* to my theme folder, but still doen't show.

You also have to copy the text from modifications.english.php to modifications.spanish.php in order for the  correct text to appear.

hi there I am using

forum version 1.1.6 and gallery version 1.9.4

but I am getting this error when adding a picture ( the file i was adding is a jpg )

Not a valid picture file.

please guide me on what to do .. thanks

Was it a complete picture? Check your forum's error log for any relevant errors

That sounds like a permission check that uploaded files have the correct permissions.

Are you able to upload images in a post and have them resized?

yes i was able to upload an image on the forum (as attachment) without any problems

You would have to edit the Gallery.php in the Sources folder and add some counting.

Warning that count may not last if you do forum mantaince when it rebuilds the totals.
