I got tired of xoops cbb/newbb forums, and I want to convert to smf. I am using xoops 2.3.0.
I found this topic here:
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=255433.0

And I am willing to try the converter, but I can't download the converter.php
It just takes me to the topic where are listed all converters for different kinds of forums.

Can anyone help me out here ? :)
Thx in advance.

Try the convert.php file attached below. But you will need the convert.sql file as well attached at the topic above.

Well, i got my site running locally, but when I open convert.php it says that I have to check the licence.txt.
I don't see any licence txt, or any kind of readme file. Tried searching the forums, but found nothing. Don't want to mess everything up...

So, is there any kind of readme file, coz I don't know where to place the converter at all? Does it goes to the modules folder, or to the root folder? Does SMF have to be installed ?

Anykind of help would do :)

Well, locally evertything worked very good. It just didn't convert the polls on my forum, but that's not the big thing at all.
Thank you for your help, you're a life savior. And i really do mean it.

Once again, thx. Now to get the things done in the right way... :)

Okay, this worked for me until the attachment converter.  I don't know if it timed out as I have over 20000 attachments.  About 1/20 of them did convert.

I don't want to start over as everything else seem to work.  Is there anyone who could modify the convert script to just import the attachments.  I don't want to wipe the database.  It took me nearly 48 hours.

Thanks.

ryansaw, this topic has been 1) started by someone else, and 2) marked as solved, so it might not be noticed by the SMF Team.

I advise you to start your own topic. ;)
