Ight guys Ive just manually installed 1.0.2 update to my 1.0.1 SMF boards, and Ive run into a few errors. I had about 10-15 mods installed, and now pretty much nuthing works. The arcade isnt even accessable, I get an error message for my banners and I cant login to admin due to a session error.

Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.

I cant really do anything without admin.....so any ideas

I strongly suggest you upload the files from the "upgrade" zip file on the downloads page, and then try a bit of restraint when installing mods...

do you need both SMF 1.0.1 Update Package and SMF 1.0.2 Update Package (installed via package manager) running or can you delete 1.0.1 after installing 1.0.2

Only the one is needed... but if you have 1.0, you need to use the 1.0.1 update first.

IIRC only some of the files will change to 1.0.2. Basically, if you do a detailed version check after upgrading everything should match what it says here.

What versions should match what?  I can't find where "here" is?  EG: where is the list of updated files I can confirm have been replaced - it still states its 1.0.1 for me...

When i try to upgrade trew my admin panel i get this..

Installing this package will perform the following actions:
   Type    Action    Description
1.    Execute Modification    ./changelog.txt    Failure
2.    Execute Modification    ./index.php    Success
3.    Execute Modification    ./news_readme.html    Failure

Can I still move on or what?..

You can probably failures ignore those files.... probably means they aren't the latest versions.

Done, 7 minutes it took to upgrade (FTPing longest)

Making a backup took longer then executing the update :)

I dont have much to add to the subjest besides the fact you guys have the most easy upgrade system i have used. Went smooth for me.

Thanks again for all the great support. :)

I have no idea what you mean; the SMF 1.0.2 update is available for everyone.

No.  There's one in a language file, but it's a typo so insignificant it's not really worth it :P.

wiebke

this is my first upgrade, and I´m surprised and really amazed how simple, easy and smooth it went. Thanks a lot!

Sincerely

DeadMetal

Upgraded from 1.0 without problems. :)
What I did:
- Make backup
- Uninstall packages
- Upload new files using FTP and run upgrade.php
- Upgrade my temporary forum also, and try if my packages would work with the new version.
- Install packages on my real forum

I have one question btw: what if, for example, one error occurs with one file when trying to install a package, will the changes made in the other files be reverted to their original state? Because otherwise  you'll end up with a half installed package <-- how to fix that when that happens?
