I have a smallish problem, well I hope it is small.

All installed and usable except that members can not see the shoutbox imediately. It seems I have a slight error somewhere as in the permissions it does not show properly either (see pic)

Any advice please, I have tried to reinstall bit it is the same.

Wow that reads like it was typed by a 10 year old non English speaking person  :)

OK a little more info in case you need it.

Members have to read a post or at least click on a topic and then go back to the homepage to be able to see and use the shoutbox. Sometimes several times and even then sometimes they can see it but not use it. It works for all eventually but it is a pain having to tell all new members I have a bug.

I wonder if I have a bug of some sort in my smf and not in the shoutbox?

I am completely new to all this so even though I am a little chuffed for doing as much as I have I really would like to get things spot on  :)

Any help appreciated as I really like this shoutbox and feel it is a great addition to any forum or site.

Thanks  www.ukbestbet.com  if you want to see what I mean.

All of a sudden the new message notifier sound has stopped working.  Everything else works great.

Tried uninstall and re-install, but it still doesn't work.

Using 1.1.10 with a custom theme, but it's always worked.

Any ideas?

trying to remove sound on my end (or make it be OFF as default), and make a small white pixel disapear by changing width or something (shoutbox.swf).

check if the sound file exists.

Thanks.  Which is the sound file and where should it live?

How can I transfer the shoutbox to the bottom of the forum?

What do I need to look for and replace if I want to put the shoutbox before the Info Center? How about if I want it AFTER the Info Center?

I'm using the default theme for this forum I'm going to be tinkering with.

Thanks.

Putting this shoutbox on different locations on your forum is quiet simple. u just put this code where u want that shoutbox to appear:

// Hack's Park Shoutbox -->
   if (function_exists('template_shoutbox')) template_shoutbox('main');
   // <-- Hack's Park Shoutbox

But be careful u cant have 2 same codes in your index.template at the same time!

To get it to work on a custom theme, you'll need to edit the theme specific files manually. It's the /Themes/YOURTHEME/index.template.php file.
find:
}

function template_body_below()
{

Add before:
// Hack's Park Shoutbox -->
if (function_exists('template_shoutbox')) template_shoutbox('main');
// <-- Hack's Park Shoutbox

I changed my theme, but nothing happened. I cannot see the ShoutBox. (SMF 2.0 RC1.2).

Neither can I see the config page in Admin. I must load the page hxxp:www.yxx.xxx/index.php?action=admin;area=shoutbox [nonactive] to see it.

Thank you for your help.

are you sure you have the shoutbox properly installed?

<forum url>/Themes/default/shoutbox.mp3

it should be in this location even if you use a custom theme

Hola amigos; I just did a fresh install, package parsed for my theme, and everything's looking a-ok!  But on this latest version of the shout box, I don't see that there's an option to post links...am I missing something?

On an unrelated note, I made the mod to the shoutbox.template.php to make the swf dot disappear; and yes, I set it to '0' in BOTH places...in both the theme I use, AND in the default theme; but it's still there!  Any idea as to what the deal is?  Just curious...

zoran_dj

About that DOT u need to write these 0 in four places and DOT will disappear!

Hi,

Since I've installed this (GREAT) shoutbox, users are getting offline every minute, first I didn't thought it was related but now I'm sure of it.

I've tried all the cookie settings in admin cp but it simple continue to logout users, specially those who didn't use firefox as a browser.

Can someone give me an hand about this? Or I really have to definitely unninstall shoutbox?

Hmmm, i can't seem to install the shoutbox on SMF RC2 Public. I upload the mod and it doesn't have the install option. I even tried to change the SMF Version to SMF2 RC1.2 and it still didn't work. Any ideas?
