I changed your files assuming you'll use this version for the rest :
ad_mod_v2-3-5_SMF_v2-0RC1-1.zip

Don't forget to backup your php's files first, then :
1.Install the MOD automatically
2.Replace your theme files by these one.
3.Test.
4. Give feedback.

Regards,
JW
I have ad_mod_v2-3-6_SMF_v2-0RC2.zip version. I have ad management already installed for default theme. Problem occurred with manual modification of Core theme files. I couldn't make them work. But now, with Your modded files it seems, like it's working fine.

Edit: It has still problem. When I logout, then the forum goes wider and font goes bigger and the ad disappears.

I did the changes for "ad_mod_v2-3-5_SMF_v2-0RC1-1.zip".
If you want to use the files changed by me, you have to use this mod.
I did not use "ad_mod_v2-3-6_SMF_v2-0RC2.zip" because the parse did'nt work for that release.
Try to remove "ad_mod_v2-3-6_SMF_v2-0RC2.zip", install ad_mod_v2-3-5_SMF_v2-0RC1-1.zip and apply the files changed by me, and give feedback.

Does "ad_mod_v2-3-5_SMF_v2-0RC1-1.zip" work for SMF 2.0 RC2? If I try to install I recieve plenty Test failed notices. I think, that I need still ad_mod_v2-3-6_SMF_v2-0RC2.zip.
Only thing with Your files is now that after logout board goes wider and font increasing. Problem with ad disappearing was because of Guest didn't had permissions.
Does anybody has a glue, what can be wrong.

The theme used at hxxp:nairapalace.com [nonactive] is http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=20
Thanks so much Arantor. I got the theme and is working fine.
But I still need more assistance in this area, I need adsense on the forum. I have tried to manually install the ad mod because am using custom theme version 1.1.10 but the adsense is not showing. I selected mod 3.2.1 and parse but the index.php of the theme am using does not have "array==trackip" that i will need to edit.
I think you understand what i'm saying.
Thanks for your timely response.

Nope, because I have no idea, on account of the fact I've never used this mod before. I'd *guess* it's probably in the database somewhere.

As far as I've used, the ads are not stored anywhere.

I create my own images and FTP them to my website where they are hosted on the site in a directory.  Then, I copy the image location where it is hosted and use coding inside the mod to tell the mod where to pull the image from.

It does not create it's own directory nor does it upload images.  It is a mod that allows you to place images that are already hosted or stored on a site and display them on your site in different areas.

Hope that helps.

But the listing of what should be displayed must be stored somewhere, I think it's in the DB.

There are two database tables created:

_ads  (This is where the info is stored that you input from the AP.)
_ads_settings

All of the adding, modifying, deleting of the ads are done via the Admin Panel of the forum.  If you set an ad to be placed (say in a post), you do it through the Admin Panel.  When you want to change the image, you go back into the Admin Panel.  The same for when you are done with the ad and want to delete it.

Bigguy

in the _ads table is where the ads are all stored. All the code you put in in the admin panel is in that table.

There was a problem SMF RC2 with userarea.

It was not displaying ads in userarea. Is it solved ?
I've just installed RC2 and Ad Mangement 2.3.6.

I am no longer seeing ads in the user area either.

Is there a fix for this?

Thanks for a great mod btw :)

I have downloaded the ad mod sometimes ago, my ads were showing but after updating to 1.1.11 my ads disappeared please what can I do, am thinking does this newest upgrade work with the ad mod or do I need to modify some settings...

darubillah

Please add a location in post content

hope you understand

joe90

Just installed a new 2.0 RC2 and put this ad mod on, as with my other forums ( 1.1.11's ) looks and works well for me but the problem on the new forum is only I can see the ads.

Any ideas, non new to SMS but very new to version  2.0 RC2

Set permissions for membergroups so they can see ads as well.

joe90

Thanks Big Guy, sorted it now, had looked in permissions in simple view but couldn't find it until I switched to Classic View. Will recheck but sure it wasn't in simple view but could be me can't see for looking

Also the first post on this thread says ...

Permissions

Just like in the previous versions, you can have permissions on who is able to view the ads. By default everyone views the ads.....

My installation defaulted to not seeing the adds.

Thanks again all sorted now

HI

I have just sucessfully install the ad mod; however I do not see the admin to configure it. There is nothing in Basic features nor the permissions zone. Although I know i have installed it as the mod is embeded in my db.

Anyone knows what should i do???

Can anybody please help with this matter. It's quite disdurbing. :'(

DukeN

1st of all, great mod!

I need to do some manual changes, with the ads. I'm using SMF 2.0 with Curve. I need to add ads as 2nd post. This is working correctly but i need to change the "pink" background to a normal post background and i want to add an avatar etc in this post to look it more as an post.

Is there some way to edit this ?

This is the code

if($modSettings['ads_lookLikePosts'])
{
echo '
<div class="approvebg">
<span class="topslice"><span></span></span>
<div class="poster">
<h4>', $context['forum_name'], '</h4>
</div>
<div class="postarea">
<div class="flow_hidden">
<div class="keyinfo">
<div class="messageicon">
<img src="', $message['icon_url'] . '" alt="" border="0" />
</div>
<h5 id="subject_', $message['id'], '">
<a href="', $message['href'], '" rel="nofollow">', $message['subject'], '</a>
</h5>
<div class="smalltext">&#171; <strong>', !empty($message['counter']) ? $txt['reply_noun'] . ' #' . $message['counter'] : '', ' ', $txt['on'], ':</strong> ', $message['time'], ' &#187;</div>
<div id="msg_', $message['id'], '_quick_mod"></div>
</div>';

// If this is the first post, (#0) just say when it was posted - otherwise give the reply #.
if ($message['can_approve'] || $context['can_reply'] || $message['can_modify'] || $message['can_remove'] || $context['can_split'] || $context['can_restore_msg'])
echo '
<ul class="reset smalltext quickbuttons">';

Lets hope someone can help me.

I also added an example of my SMF 1.x forum where i added the code manually within the forum. (This is how it should be)

lrodri7418

I found these two errors

1- 8: Undefined index: ad_management
Archivo: /home/content/e/b/d/ebdesarrollo/html/smf/Sources/Subs.php
Línea: 2871

2- No se pudo cargar el archivo de idioma 'Ads.spanish'.

Any clues??
