Slovenian? That's kind of an odd language...

Never heard of it.

What's up with you guys? :o

What's odd about Slovenian if that's what you speak, and what's the point of morph's replies? If there are users/potential users looking for SMF in Slovenian, we should be trying to help and not putting them down!

morph

I was just stating that I have never heard of it before.  Sorry for not being educated well by the crappy school system we have here. Yeesh.

Coming soon!

gregy

thanx Peter .. morphs no hard feelings :) .. at least now i know that one person more knows where Slovenia is :))

keep on good work

morph

Actually yesterday in Lit class  we talked about Slovenia and where it is located.  I now know.. woo hoo!!

Coming soon!

Oldiesmann

My comment about it being an odd language was because its not one you hear of a lot in this part of the world...

We hear plenty of it here ^^

Besides, the more languages SMF supports, the more users it'll reach, therefore every language is useful, cause as long as it isn't a dead language like latin someone will look for it someday ;)

just install YSE in the meantime, don't mod it, and you can switch when is released :)

The only mod I've got installed is the speed-up hack (disable click log).  Will that impair my ability to convert/upgrade to SMF 1.0?

Jeff Lewis

Not at all, we've removed clicklog.

I've got so many mods on my board that I think I'd just be better off starting over. Here's what I plan to do:

1. Backup database
2. Take saved database structure to lycos UK and re-create that database
3. Delete any "extra" stuff (such as anything added by a mod)
4. Save new database structure.
5. Wipe out my old board completely and do a fresh install of SMF 1.0

That way, users won't lose all their profile stuff (i'll keep a copy of the original database structure just in case), and I won't have to spend my time un-installing mods

What could a mod add / modify that would ruin the info that the converter would extract?

It would take a lot.  Even the Supermod converts fine. (as of last try.)

Hmmmm... Interesting. Well, I'll play around with the beta versions/release candidates when they're released, so I should have a good idea of what will and what won't work.

Hi David...
Is it necessary to buy a Charter Member account?
For us from France it's difficult without VISA Card?
Is there one other GNU free solution for test ?

As SMF is still in beta and is not complete, it is currently ONLY available to the developers, special people, and Charter Members.
When SMF is ready to be released (ie: bugs have been minimised, and all the features complete) it will become available to the public as a beta software.
I will not be liscenced under GNU, however it will still be free, and you'll still be able to play with the code just like in YaBBSE, the new liscence I belive just gives the developers more control and a better deal.

At the moment there is no set release date for a public beta, however we're keeping our fingers crossed that it will be soon. However from what I hear the admin center and a few other things are not yet 100% complete...

Its also worth noting that all that I've just said is mainly speculation and knowledge based on reading almost every single public post (in english) at these forums, and hence nothing I say should be taken as 100%

:P so what is your current liscene ? :P

We don't need a reason to help people

David

tu5ex, all payments are currently made through PayPal and I believe they support a variety of countries.  You can also contact [email protected] for more information if you wish.

SMF is not under a GNU license currently.  For the charter member release it is under a very limiting license as they are not allowed to share the source.  The license for public releases has not yet been finalized but will most likely be a proprietary license and not a mainstream one.
This space for rent.
