Is there also an option to have a fixed background picture and the forum text is transparent over it ?
Have it where the background is fixed in place and the content scrolls across it? Eh, good luck with setting something like that up which actually looks decent. I can envision it being possible, certainly, but I'm not masochistic enough to try it.
EDIT: though on a related note, you could fix the background gradient in place on Curve-based themes, which looks decent enough. You would just add this to the theme's index.css:
body
{
background-attachment: fixed;
}

OK then, I've attached my unofficial RC4 updated versions to this post.

Thanks for the unofficial updated Prince Of Darkness theme for 2.0 rc4. One problem though, I noticed the fixed gradient background is no longer viewable as it was in the earlier versions. Is there some way I can adjust the width of this revised version back to the original look?

Thanks for the support!

Updating from RC3 to RC4, sometimes the width value of themes is lost resulting in them effectively being 100% wide. In the Admin panel, go to Configuration -> Themes and Layout -> Theme Settings. Go into each theme there and make sure the "Forum width" value is set; "90%" should have it looking the same width as before.

That did the trick! Thanks so much for the quick and great support! Much appreciated!

Maybe check out Runic's "Halloween 2010"  theme, you should be able to adapt that   ;)

I am sorry to bother you guys, but I've been trying to understand the concept of changing theme colors and I find it quite overwhelming, Im sure is because of my lack of knowledge on Css and PS. I will love to ask for a big favor and Im sure anyone can do it in a minute, well maybe few.

The changes that I want to make on my forum I consider they should be simple to do, all I want to do is match the colors of my forum with my front page. If anyone can do me that big favor I will really appreciate it. I can work with the icons, and changing the colors in the css style file. But I cannot figure it out how to change the colors of the categories. This is what I want to do.

My home page is http://www.xecofl.com and as you can see is very simple. Just grey background, dark grey body, black boxes, blue categories and navigation mouse over.

That is really what I want to do on my main forum.

I've been reading and copying other themes so I can edit those, but either i cant change the png files, or dont know how to. I even dowloaded the PSd from here and still dont know how to edit it. If you think is too much trouble then at least point my in the right direction so I can do it.

Thanks and Im sorry for the request.

Anyone got new versions of Curve_main_block_psd.zip and menu_gfx_psd.zip?

I was also looking for the Curve RC4 PSD, but sometimes you have to step in and put in a bit of work yourself ;)

I hope nobody minds me sharing this here. Unofficial, not endorsed etc, but it works fine for the three sites I've used it on so far.

Attached are updated releases for RC5. The RC4 versions will work OK in RC5, but they'll miss out on the default theme's CSS changes.
Besides the default theme CSS changes from RC4->RC5, this release includes a few styling improvements. Namely, a tweak to the News section, the Calendar's selected day, and several color fixes in the Admin panel.

EDIT: attachments updated with proper BBC link coloration in CSS.
