Ok i have a huge problem. I transfer my website last night and they said it should all be fine. The problem is that when i upload packages it gets uploaded to my old cpanel. I tried to use repair_settings.php but it wont work in my new cpanel root, i have to upload it in my old cpanel at my old host for it to work. What do i do???

Hello there.

Can you tell us why repair_settings.php won't work on your new host? You should use it to fix all URLs and paths on new server though. Most likely your paths, db info and some other settings might be wrong at this point, and therefore it's normal that you can't install packages.

Because stuff in my new cpanel dosnt or function with my site.  When i upload on my old cpanel(old host) it is connected with the site. So if i upload repair on my old cpanel it works, when i upload on my new cpnal its like if its not connected.

Are you using the same domain as you used before? It may be that your DNS is still not refreshed so you see old site.

So, If I understood correctly, when you upload repair_settings.php and go to yoursite.com/repair_settings.php you got 404 error or something?
Please provide URL to your forum if possible.

Again i got no error, when i uploaded the repair file at my old host cpanel (tmdhosting.com) the file and site work as it should. When i upload repair setting at my new cpanel host (webhostinghub) the file wont activate.

Can you share your forums URL here please?

Illori

are you using the same domain name on both hosts? if so you need to set the new DNS servers to the new host, then wait for them to update then try to fix the paths from there.

Okay, if you go to admin panel and check the server settings and theme paths etc, is those info correct, for the new server and the database itself?
Still sound like DNS servers wasn't updated yet for you.

Problem solved. I had to go to my windows hosts folder and type in a new IP for the site. My pc directed me to the old site, while other people went to the new IP. Thats why i could install mods only to the old cpanel that wouldnt affect others going to the site. What a mess :)
