If you want to hide the quick reply window, thanks to this mod you can collapse the quick reply or set it to a minimalist mode like the quick reply in Invision Community. In my opinion, this mode is great!

The mod has been paid, but I asked a friend for permission to share this mod all SMF members. And thanks to this, SMF 2.1 gained new functionality.

When I uninstalled this mod and reinstalled it, a lot of errors appear in the log:











These errors are caused by guests (IP numbers)

For now you could try re-saving or resetting the member options for guests

These errors are generated when minimalistic behavior is set for quick reply.

I think if minimalistic behavior is selected, buttons (Preview, Post) should be there, else users must remember shortcut keys to preview / submit their post. Or, shortcut keys should be present as text at the bottom.

Those still appear but only after the user is focused on the textarea.

So, something odd just happened to me.

I set Enhanced Quick Reply to "minimalistic" and all was well. Then, I decided to turn on the Drafts feature. Afterwards, I started seeing the full Quick Reply box again and none of the plug-in settings does anything (i.e., the full quick reply is always shown). I disabled Drafts, uninstalled the plug-in, reinstalled, and now I still can't disable the quick reply box.

Never mind, I figured it out.

Didn't realize there was a user-selectable theme setting that overrides what's set under Topic Settings.

I reset everyone to "collapsed" and it's behaving normally again. Sorry for the confusion.

It's added for convenience since in 2.0.x a similar setting was found as a member option too.

Hello, @Diego Andrés.

Would you please consider updating the mod to include the ability to attach image uploads? There could be a setting with the ACP to enable/disable this, but it would be super useful to me. I am sure some others who use the mod would find it convenient and quicker from needing to go into the full reply.
