I will try to work on it, but I am not sure if I can do.

sometimes it shows up, sometimes not. trippy. tried CHMOD 777 and couple of other things. still don't see what causes it to disappear sometimes.

Elmacik

Sometimes Firefox doesnt display but its not caused by the mod. I tried with:

IE 6
FF 1.5
Opera 8

Nice MOD ...

What about 1.1 RC2 ?

Can you modify for use on it ?

Thanks !

And HAPPY NEW YEAR !

Umm.. My internet connection is cut so I cannot promise.
But it should work with RC2 with no problem since its only a line of code to add in.

I will try sooner.

Like you said it's a Firefox thing indeed. I tried it with the other browsers and it works just fine.

Furvert

I just installed it on RC2 and it looks ok except Firefox 1.5 shows a blank box the first time it open additional options, second time shows.

Elmacik

Furvert,
Thanks for trying on RC 2
As I stated above, it will work with all the SMF versions. Because mod inserts only one line.

And again as I stated above, Firefox pisses sometimes shows on second click (as you experienced)

You know I tried version 2.0 of the mod and it doesn't seem to have the issue with Firefox where you have to click on Additional Options twice. Maybe you can post on what changes were done exactly from 2.0 to 2.1 and we can use that to figure out what causes FF to not read the iframe the first time. I know this is a minor thing but if a person is clueless about this mod being installed on the server he/she wouldn't consider clicking "additional options" twice to see the thing. Thanks.

Elmacik

d3v,
The only reason that I updated the version 2.0 to 2.1 was a javascript error.
Yes, Firefox was showing with the first click. But Internet Explorer wasnt even opening the "Additional Options" box. When you click to "Additional Options" nothing happens and an error icon appears in the status bar.
Why it was happening? Because I had to use form element in my codes. But SMF's post is also done with form element. So, there cant be 2 form elements inside each other.
This is why I had to seperate the upload mod into a different page. (Thats Upload.html)
So, the upload action is done via another page, not the SMF's post template.

Shouldnt have I done this long explanation? :P There is a changelog in the mod page.

nah thanks for doing it. it makes sense. i tested both versions in IE and I see what u mean as well. I went ahead and installed slighlty edited version of 1.0 on my forum. I like the whole xhtml compliant/no iframe approach. Thanks for taking your time to provide support. you can see the mod being used here: www.mangahelpers.com

Elmacik

Actually when I firstly did the 1.0 version, I wasnt planning to put into "Additional Options" box. I was planning to do the version 2.0 placed just like the 1.0 one. (Under the send and preview buttons of the posting area)
But some requested me to put in that box. Soon I thought it will be more beautiful.... Thats the story :P

Installed version 2.1 on a fresh SMF1.1RC2 using FF 1.5 but do not see the iframe. Shouldn't it be better to reference the html file using "/Upload.html" instead? Going to try it after 5 hours sleep ... :)

QuoteAn Error Has Occurred!
You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!
I keep getting this error when I try to install the mod. I use SMF 1.1 RC2 and I have CHMOD the package dir and all files in it to 777 manually. What gives??

Elmacik

I dont know the reason but I can suggest you to manually install the mod.
There is only one little line to add :)

i've installed v2.1 via the packet manager. With ie there is no problem, but i prefer using Firefox 1.5 and after the two clicks i encounter with an error message itstead of upload bar. It says "The requested URL /Upload.html was not found on this server." How can this be? I double checked upload.html and it is in there and not 0 kb. Besides ie finds it  >:(

Elmacik

This is a problem with FF, I dont think I can help it... :-\

i solved the problem but that was interesting: i copied "upload.html" to base directory from the forum directory.
