i have a forum running on SMF 1.1.7 with Reference, and Classic Red as the themes
now im trying to install some mods, where i need to manually edit the files. i am accustomed to edit files, as i used to work with phpbb.
but the problem is that the mod is looking for display.template.php (or some file like that) but the themes dont have these files........
so in general, if a theme does not have the file need for that mod to work, what can i do?i really need those mods.

If you've installed a mod using the package manager, and the theme does not contain a file that pertains to a mod, skip that step.

When installing using the package manager all mods will be made to the default theme. If a custom theme has not used a particular page (ie: display.template.php), then the site will refer to the default theme's page which means you modded it with the install. Make sense?
