Is the new based on images uploaded that day or something else?

Just on the category if they haven't viewed the category since a new photo was uploaded. Not on each photo, just on the category. Goes away once they click on it.

Hi I have just installed v 2.0.7  All is fine uploading an image but when the thumbnail is clicked I get "You don't have permission to access /94board/index.php on this server."
Can any one give me a pointer?

Thanks to vbgamer45  your tip has done the trick. After adding the recommended file I decided to removed the gallery and make a clean start (there was only a couple of test images on the gallery).
   Removing the gallery for obvious reasons does not clean the gallery database data. I removed these also, as after loading/unloading the gallery umpteen times I was sure there would be more trouble ahead.
A clean upload and the extra file works brilliantly. Thanks again for all at SMF for all your efforts, I'm a v happy man!!!!!!!!

If i upgrade to 2.0.7 will i lose my pictures in the gallery i have installed now?

You will not loose your pictures. No information is lost when you uninstall.

Not able to uninstall 2.0.5 of gallery.I get these errors

Those errors are ok to fail they occur if you have other mods that are installed

If you are using a custom theme you will need to add a link/button to the index.template.php of your theme.

To access the gallery visit http://www.yourforum.com/index.php?action=gallery

Yeah for SMF 1.1.x with custom themes require an edit to add a button/link with SMF 2.0 it is better in most cases will work automaticlly unless the theme is really unique.
