To try to disable it, create a file with the name "htaccess.txt" and put the following in it:

Upload it to your server, and then rename it to ".htaccess" (that's right, it starts with a dot.)  If you already have a file with that name, you'll want to open it with Notepad, and add the above to it (top or bottom.)  Create a backup, though, before overwriting anything.

Here is my issue.  The gallery works fine on my test site.  No problems at all.  I move the files and such over to the live site and I get this error.

Warning Gallery path is not writable!

Fatal error: Call to undefined function DoToolBarStrip() in /home4/lousyatg/public_html/Sources/Load.php(1736) : eval()'d code on line 47

Check that your Gallery path is correct under Admin -> Gallery Configuration should be
/home4/lousyatg/public_html/gallery/
And that folder needs to be writable

I'm having the same problem, but I'm not sure what CHMOD settings I should have for the gallery folder. It's currently set to 0755 which is apparently not writable. I don't want to go all the way to 0777 if I can avoid it, so what is recommended? Thanks.

If the folder is writable then it is probably something else
What is your gallery path in gallery configuration. I would verify that the setting is correct.

The path is: /home/user/public_html/gallery/

This all came about when I moved everything from a "forums" directory to the root. So previously it was "/home/user/public_html/forums/gallery/" and everything worked fine, but now since moving it doesn't.

When I CHMOD the gallery folder to 777 the warning (bold red on the Gallery Configuration page) disappears, but on 755 it's there.
