I was referring to the screenshots posted on the mod's download page: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2054, they show where the checkbox to tick is.

Okay, found the setting and clicked on it. But now it won't uninstall. It tells me that a hacker is trying to get into my system.

Norv

Which mod won't uninstall?
Can you please first look at Signature settings again, then in the error log, and post the errors?

Then, about uninstall, please tell what mod, and a screenshot may help as well.

Same error. Nothing new.

8: Undefined variable: filename2
File: /home2/ladyofth/public_html/forum-3/Themes/default/languages/Post.english.php (main sub template - eval?)
Line: 889

Tried to uninstall Signature Settings Mod and that's when I got the "hacker" notice.

Also, when I clicked on Signature Settings, it still sends me back to "Basic Features".

flapjack

did you try to manually add the mod using the parser?

No, there is no need to. SMF 2.0 already has these features as core features. (the signature settings)

Please make sure you install the mod: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2054 and tick the checkbox as shown in its screenshot. (as shown on exactly the mod's download page linked here).

Also: please empty your error log. Then, go to Signature Settings page in Admin, and click on Signature Settings.

Then, verify your error log again.

If you have errors, they should not be identical to the other one, please do tell which they are.

Clicked on enable output.
Clicked on template evaluation.

The Signature Settings button is now missing.

No different errors in error file.

Norv

The Signature Settings button is now missing? The Signature Settings has nothing to do with the other mod... What else happened, that it's now missing...?

They are both back for some reason. Strange. But the rest still stands as before. No new error messages and still doesn't work.

Norv

Please, use the attached file, replacing yours. Do make sure you keep a backup copy of your own file, and replace it back in case anything goes wrong.

In order to replace your file with this one: please download and keep safe your file in Sources/ModSettings.php, then, download the attached file, named ModSettings.php (please keep the same case), and make sure to upload it to your SMF folder, Sources subfolder, replacing yours.

as has been answered in nearly every mod thread...  a failed file just means that the auto install can not work. You would have to manually install the mod in those files because something else has likely already changed that portion.

Scratching my Head

After having numerous problems with manual install, I tried it the way it was designed to be installed. I was hoping for some help.

Thanks.

I understand that you may have had problems.... but the ONLY way around the failed installation in those files is to manually apply the changes to those files.  Something (likely some other mod) has changed those files in such a way that the auto-installer can not match the code that it needs to find.

Thanks you've been lots of help.

Thank you for all your help here, but NO mod is worth all this trouble. I give up.
