I guess it will be a while before we ever get a non table template. Still hoping though.

Or maybe theme creators should know what that means. :P

Think this could be fixed up?

Just put with a disclaimer.  The 'tables' we were referring to, come with 4 chairs and table cloths. ;)

Dannii

Hahahaha. What if it comes with a table, but no tablecloth?

Then you know your going to get coffee marks and other stains on your nice new table. ;)

It should be changed to "semantic" because tables aren't bad.

Theme site is down now, but I'm pretty sure it says something along the lines of "Are tables used for layouts?" which is a fair question, and easier to understand than semantical :P

What if font is used all over the place? I think we should ask if it is semantic and explain what semantics means ;)

Seems to be a problem all over the place that people don't know what it means.

Is this theme sooooo Web '95?

Has the author embraced CSS-based Layouts/Style?

Which reminds me the other day, I was viewing a mod or theme (I can't' remember which).  Font all over the place.
And the closing tags went something like
</font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font></font>

Coldfx

This is a pretty off-topic thread.. :P

Anyways, I think that option should be removed.  Why? All templates use tables, meaning for a TRULY tableless theme, you'd need to edit EVERY default template file.

But aren't going to forever (except for genuinely tabular data)...

Seen forsakenlad's new theme?

karlbenson

shouldnt there be 3 options

tables-normal (pretty much smf standard)
tables-less (meaning no tables except for tabular data)
tables-none (meaning no tables whatsoever)

So make the second 'tables-where appropriate' and you might have a winner!

But how about 'divs-where appropriate and not just as blanket replacements for superfluous tds' while we're at it? ;)

PS Better use dashes instead of hyphens as well, but just sticking with the given format! >:D
