In SMF2 index.css look for -
/* this is the main container surrounding everything, use this to set forum width, font-size  etc. */
#mainframe
{
font-size: 85%;
width: 95%;
margin: auto;
}

change the width line to-
width: 995px;

Hello,

I will start by saying I am a newbie to SMF and I haven't made a webpage since 1996 (and even then I hosted it from a floppy disc.  IE: It was never uploaded to the web).  So far I have been able to register a domain, get it hosted, and got an SMF forum up by using FAQs, boards, etc.  It took about 20 hours...But I know I could do it again in about 3 minutes, so I guess I learned something.

Crip, I really like this theme and I am curious if I am allowed to remove the black rain image and replace it with one of my own.

Is that acceptable or is it against the copyright agreement?

Thank you

You can personalize it however you want. What you shouldn't do is change the copyright or link to the author is all.

Ok Thanks!

A couple of more questions.

1) Can I make changes on my site "live" (if it is already uploaded by using the admin section)?  Or do I have to modify offline and re-upload the theme.

2)  I know HTML, and I have a basic understanding of CSS, But where can I find the code.  I see multiple css for different browsers, but is there some kind of master style sheet I can edit?

Basically the two things I would like to change are: put in my own club logo and change all the yellow text to red.  Any help would be appreciated!

BTW I did look over the tutorial forum (Clarity) , but I could not figure out where you edit the code.

So I know the image I need to replace is "myslogan.jpg".

I found it in the index template.php.file.  If I want to replace the image, should I go to my file loader on my webhost, delete the myslogan jpg, and upload the one I want in its place, and just change the code to the jpg I would like, or is there a different way to do it?

I would like to change two things on this theme:

Put in my own club logo (replace "myslogan.jpg")  and change all the yellow text to red.  Is the text an image file because I can not find any code that matches up with yellow.  I only see FFFFFF which is white I believe and 00000 which is black, but I do not see code for yellow.

Any help would be appreciated!

Since no one seems to be responding, I will put my progress in case anyone else has the same question.

I've discovered you can locate "myslogan.jpg" on you file manager and simply change the name of the image you would like in its place to myslogan.jpg and upload it.  This was an old HTML trick that I guess still works.

I am still working on changing the yellow text to red, but I do not understand why the author would use so many CSS files instead of one big file.  I thought the idea of CSS was 1 file for all of your HTML, but maybe it has changed since it was introduced back in the day.

So I finally found the yellow font color: F1C534.  For some reason before I could not edit the CSS, but now I can.  Maybe the file was corrupted on the original install.

I guess I will just use the find function in Firefox and manually replace the code with my selected color.  I would think there would be a better way in this day an age, but I am unaware of it.

The most reliable reason as to why nobody has replied, is because the world has time zones, and people have lives outside of this site.
The usual waiting period for a reply ranges from 1min to 24hrs depending on the thread, then it is suggested that you bump the thread if no reply to your query has been posted 'after' the 24hr frame.
Good on you for finding the solutions to your questions :)

OK I am using black rain v2.

I have been manually looking up hex colors to find all the yellow in the theme and I am trying to change it to red.

Is there a better way, since there are several different codes used for yellow in the theme?

The only areas I have not bee able to change are:  Changing font color of date bar / Forum Stats bar/ users online bar

Where is the code located to modify these colors?

I have included a screen print to show the areas I am trying to change from Yellow to red.

First off Crip kudos for the great theme!
I read through most of this thread and im still a little unsure on how to add a tab for access to my gallery.

I installed the Aeva Media mod and im able to see the tab "Media" when using the SMF Default theme. But this tab disappears when changing back to Black Rain V2.
Im running SMF 1.1.11

Any info on how to do this and what file requires modification would be appreciated.

TheListener

Did you have any errors on install?

LOTL

Nope no errors. The Media button does show up with the Default SMF Theme.
