How are things for you guys today?   Did a lot more work on MySQL later last night and I think i'm close to where we need to be now.

I'll let you know this avro  O:)

EDIT: Forum was great today!  :-*

dschwab9

I'm seeing a 2 second page creation time on occasion - I think while someone is running a search, but, I believe it's pretty stable now.

The cache is really starting to kick in. Seeing about 80% usage of the cache's memory and 100% hits, no misses. Hopefully things will continue to settle in. At that point, we can look for more places to make optimizations.

It's been fine for me too. As we now take care of the servers ourselves I am sure we can all look forward to better performance and more reliability.

;)

I concur - looks like all is settling fine. Knock on wood  :D

I get the maintenance mode mesage from time to time when browsing from my phone.  I got it this morning as well.  Haven't gotten it recently though.

Weird.   We haven't been in maintenance mode today unless someone else did it.

Yea I got it again after I posted that message.  I was on my phone also.  I think it might be something with my phone and DNS.  I was looking for a way to flush the DNS on my cell but wasn't able to do it.

Is it the message that says we're moving datacenters?   If so, it's probably hitting the old server for some reason.

Yea that's the message that I get.  I get it sometimes only.  Not always so that's why I find it weird.

One weird thing I note today - notification messages turned unreliable. Is this the trade off for a better responsive forum?  O:)

EDIT:
Actually, notifications are now dripping in back in time from yesterday 21:34
Yes, there seem to be horrible mail server problems :)

The provider is probably ignoring the TTL and caching for a longer time. Not much can be done about that.

The mail server is still being worked on a bit. I'm sure we'll get that cleaned up soon.

For the past 2 hours I have been trying to download a mod and I've gotten nothing but SMF database errors. (was getting that across the site but now it appears only the downloads are not working)

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=610

Any ideas? I really need this mod (PM it to me if anyone has it!). Thanks!

Works for me now.

Sorry for the db error messages, it looks like we got bit by a weird bug involving reverse lookups. This should be resolved now.

Downloads work for me as a guest, user and on my own account.
Is it possible you are still seeing the old server?
Google up on how to flush your dns cache for your specific operating system and give it a try.
