[Unofficial] SMF Banners Archive (Round II) [Lots of images]
« on: December 07, 2004, 11:46:59 PM »
With the release of SMF 1.0 Final getting ever closer, I thought it would be fun to resurrect this idea, and make it a sitcky this time so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle...

For those of you who have no clue what I'm talking about, check out SMF Banners Archive...

Anyway, before I get started with the images, here are some resources:

Standard banner size
Web Banner Design Tips
General Banner Design Tips
Tips for Effective Banner Design

Ok... Now on with the images (see attachments to download). The only thing I ask is that you respect the original authors and don't hot-link the images. If you need a place to host images, Tripod/Lycos UK is a great place to put them - 50MB of space and no real bandwidth limit...

Explanation of attachments:
SMF Graphics Archive.zip - Everything from this post and the one below it in one big ZIP file.
SMF Banners.zip - Just the full-sized banners (everything in this post).
SMF Other Images.zip - Everything else (everything in the next post).

Cool, thanks! I've set up a banner-rotation system on my website, and have added some of these banners to it  :)

first of all  HELLO to all  :-)  I just installed this marvelous forum version,  being french I am somewhat confused with some terms and installation :

does the word banner will be the LOGO  in the Theme Settings , if yes  :

there is a place that is written : Logo :  then an empty field to enter something,  , what do I enter ?.. the url of the logo -banner?

OK I'VE FOUND THE ANSWER, : yes it is a url link...  ( and i did not link it from here  :-) ;)

Of course; where do you want it?

I would like to add a banner to the top of my forum page... above the name. How do i do that? Sorry if that seems like a dumb thing to ask.

Updated everything today (12/21/04):
Added all the images from the old graphics archive
Added the new images from Mattitude and ******
Fixed all the download links (removed the ";image" from the URLs so it would actually download the attachments instead of displaying them)
Added links to download the images in zip files (everything [1019.84kb], full banners [731.3kb] and everything else [269.96kb])

Enjoy and keep them coming... I'll update the zip files every week or so as new images arrive...

****** - You need to make it so Guests can see attachments. I can only see those images if I'm logged into your forum. I can attach them here if you would prefer (makes things a bit simpler). I just registered for your board so I could see them and downloaded them.
