8: Undefined index: welcome_guest_activate

This one is simple; old or out of date language files.

QuoteIncorrect key file for table: 'snuggery_members'. Try to repair it
File: /usr/www/rscott/ageplay.org/www/snuggery/Sources/Subs.php
Line: 478

! Attempt to fix "incorrect key file" errors too. (Errors.php)

This one is a lot worse.  Can you try to ANALYZE or CHECK said table using "operations" in phpMyAdmin, if REPAIR won't work?

I'm not sure whether this was caused by SMF, but it may be that there was too much index updating for your server to take (which is a bad thing.)  If you want, I can try to fix it for you - if you pm me with phpMyAdmin access.

Unknown, thank you for the quick reply, and in case it helps add to your great body of fix-knowledge, what I ran into which seemed like it was out-of-date langague files (undefined index error, above) took awhile to track down because I clearly did have the right ones -- and it turned out to be a corruption in the MySQL database that had set the  current theme number to one that didn't exist (i.e. I have three themes total, and the current-theme field said "4".

When I changed that manually to "3" with phpMySQL, it solved everything. Appears to've not been loading any language file indexes at all, with a bogus theme number setting, and so bombing on every reference to an index.

Just in case it ever helps someone else down the line...

Thank you VERY much for your diligent support and attention. It's so refreshing these days.

I upgraded with no problems through the package manager to SMF 1.0.1

Can I delete the .php~ files then?

Yes.

Glad it worked out for you, UnkaBobby, and sorry for my mistake.

well i just tried upgrading to 1.0.1 and the error i get when accessing the package manager is:

2: gzinflate(): buffer error
File: /home/ryanbust/public_html/forums/Sources/Subs-Package.php
Line: 262

line 262 of subs-package.php reads:

$data = gzinflate(substr($data, $offset, strlen($data) - 8 - $offset));

Hi, all.  Need a little help.  I'm on the Package Manager page of my forum.  I have uploaded a mod that I want to install after I get the upgrade to 1.0.1 done.  I only mention that to show that I have successfully uploaded a file into the package manager.

Where and how do I get the update package into my package manager?

fastforum

Is the package manager in SMF 1.0.1 for installing mods already working? or is it just me?

can i install a mod with it? thanks

Champi

I had the same question before...  ??? My mods are not installed right with the package manager... how to it manual? simply trough ftp...?  ::)

nope, the ads are not the issue, as i have tried removing them temporarly.

Its 1.0.1, and it still says "You are unable to connect to simplemachines.org's latest news file."

Strange.  It will only get there if it thinks it finds a package.  Regardless, this error should not be shown in 1.0.1.  You may have to upgrade manually.

Hmmm, gusto5, I'm not sure what to tell you.  Does this link work for you?

Hello everybody, I am running SMF 1.0 RC2...
What´s the correct path to upgrade to 1.0.1 ?
Thanks in advance,
aiz

Kindred

RC2 to 1.0 requires a manual update (from what I know)
In other words, uninstall all your mods, download the update from the d/l section here, upload the files to your server.

1.0 to 1.0.1 can be done in the package manager...

Then you can reapply any mods that have been updated to v1.0.1

That is not working... I guess I will have to install from scratch.

Trekkie101

Its the second "UPGRADE" pack

Namely this one http://www.simplemachines.org/download.php/smf_1-0-1_upgrade.zip

If that doesnt work it should.
