Hi everybody! There are some difficulties with my new SMF 2.0b.
1. The first is quite major. I cannot install mods. When I'm trying to install (run) downloaded mods, there is an error about protected mods directory appears (CHMOD). The fun thing is - I've already switched all necessary files to 777 through FTP. Well, what the....? :)
2. Underline is not working. No idea why. Forum has the standard theme with different colors.
3. The quotes looks like this: ***done, thanx to Owdy***

There is no color in quote. I suppose, this have to do something with my theme (style.css), but where to find it, which parameter is this?

Overall, the SMF is great :)

Thank you for your time!

3. CSS is changed, you need to update your custom theme.

1.1.x
/* A quote, perhaps from another post. */
.quote

2.0.x
/* A quote, perhaps from another post. */
blockquote

etc

For underline following css rule is needed:

.bbc_u
{
text-decoration: underline;
}

Search for ".bbc_" in style.css in default theme for others that might be needed.

Well.. there is no ".bbc_" in style.css. So where do I put it?

And about my problem with CHMOD - any ideas? Maybe, someone could give me a list of files, that must be in 777 for installing mods, and I will go over them again?
Or is it a problem with my SMF 2.0b?

I believe the files that the modification needs to change need to be writable.

Мel

Of course :) But what are those files? I thought, that I've made all necessary changes to 777.

You could use the file permissions within the Packages section of the ACP to make all the source files writable, apply the mod and then set them back to normal again. I think the source files that the mod modifies need to be writable.

Мel

Yeah, I've made all that files writable, but - that's the problem, it's not working.
Well, I will try more, and I would appreciate any advices.

Still - no result. Even when ALL is writable - there is message about protected mods directory.
WTF....

1. How are you checking that the files/folders are 100% set to the CHMOD that you want, ie 777?

2 & 3.  Already solved, but be sure to always use a fully 2.x compatible theme to make sure you have 100% functionality.
