This gallery is by far the best gallery I have used so it's a credit to the developers, you have done well guys.
But your support leaves a lot to be desired I must say. I have read this entire thread and most posts at http://smf-media.com .
I find you both have very little patience and understanding for other people, and can be very rude. You both need to work on your attitude I'm afraid if you plan on getting anywhere in life...
Thanks for your advice, but its really not easy to support this thing you know? Especially when one thing is answered 100 times and no one bothers to use something called as "search". Now if you have something better to say, say it otherwise we are not interested in hearing.

Yeah we know. But we don't work for glory or anything like that so you can cut the crap.

Like I'd believe that.
If you did, first of all you wasted your time. It's our curse to be forced to read everything. Not yours. If you did read everything, you would have posted your comments from time to time. So you're just screwing around and lying.

QuoteI find you both have very little patience and understanding for other people, and can be very rude.
So what? We've been working on this for months, not as a side job but as a real, unpaid fulltime job (I count Aeva in the lot), and so far, most of what we've got in return are rude messages from rude people who think we owe them because they chose to take 2 minutes and install our ******e.

Well, we don't care whether people install it or not. We made it, we're sharing it in the true spirit of free software (free both as in freedom and as in beer), but we don't have to support it. Still, we do it. Given the smashing success of our mod, we did NOT expect so many support messages. And we certainly didn't expect so many similar support questions (or feature requests) that come back, and come back, and come back. It's ALWAYS because of that. And if you had really read ALL of the messages in this topic and at smf-media.com (what, 10.000 posts in total?), you would know why we're getting tired of this. And you would be encouraging us, or even helping us, instead of criticizing like that.

So, what's your point?

QuoteYou both need to work on your attitude I'm afraid if you plan on getting anywhere in life...
Where do you think we want to go?
Personally, I couldn't care less about my image and how my attitude is perceived. I have very little patience when it comes to tech support. But tech support isn't my life. Tech support is only an unfortunate side-effect of something I happen to love doing (programming). And it's not about money. I'm pretty much as rude as I am when I'm paid or when I am not.

But what you're seeing here is only some part of me. So don't think you're better than I am because you're not in my shoes.
And really, do you think that, at 34, I haven't already been where I wanted to be in life?
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

Aeva Media rocks your life.

Hallo,

I too have to convert the ; characters in the url's to &.

Because mod security is on and I cannot disable it by .htaccess
My providers must do this due to hacking attempts.

I am almost done, but cannot find where the $galurl. is generated.
Where is that part of SMF MEDIA GALLERY done?

Because in $galurl there still are the ; characters

Thanks a lot.

Pieter

Dragooon

$galurl is loaded in loadMgal_Settings function of Subs-MGallery.php, but mod_security is a pretty bad mod IMO.

movingmagic

Thanx a zillion!!!
I will tell my ISP that he sucks!!! with his stupid mod!!!!
;D

Nao 尚

Lol.
And I didn't know that mod_security had a problem with ";"...
Really, you should be using a page-wide replacement for that. --> QueryString.php and edit.
Okay, it's only for hardcore PHP programmers but still... Only a couple of lines would be needed.

So I replaced ;id= with &id= everywhere I could find it.

STILL, when I want to edit an entry, the text with a photo, and I click the submit changes button,

Still the URL creates an ;id= at the end.

Where does that come from?

Almost everything works now,

Thanks

Pieter

Sounds like it would be easier and cheaper to switch hosts...

Indeed

And if its not a question(I don't see why), I recommend doing a preg_replace in obExit(Susb.php) or ob_sessionwrite(QueryString.php)

Hi this mod looks good, it works for default theme but not for my custom theme. I made manual updates to index.template which is only updated file in themes folder except for languages, made no difference. Any idea what I need to do to get this to work with my theme?

Dragooon

Does your languages folder got Modifications.english.php?

Jim_W08

Yes it does thanks, that lead me down the right path ..  :)

Jim_W08

I get "An Error Has Occurred!" from here http://store.smf-media.com/ [nofollow] wanting to try demo.

Dragooon

I don't see any error? What do you want to try as a demo?

SMG 1.5.5 released!

Changelog :
Version 1.5.5                                   February 21, 2009
-----------------------------------------------------------------
! Double-install check at install time wasn't working correctly
! Readfile was disabled in some hosts, added proper check to fallback to fopen/fread combo
! Fixed remote videos not embedding when AEVA was not installed
!* Improved (rather added) checks for permissions being messed up at mgal_data/albums or mgal_data
! When albums were deleted, the generic folder icon was also getting deleted if it was assigned to it

drakeone69

I just installed the new 1.5.5 release
_____________

I had gotten the MASS UPLOAD button to work by removing my database entries and starting all over again.

I upgraded to 1.5.5 and the MASS UPLOAD button went back to not working.

I have flash/java/the kitchen sink installed and it isn't working. .

Can I upgrade from 1.5.4 to 1.5.5 the same way I did with 1.5.3 to 1.5.4? By just replacing the smg files? Or is it just a few tweaks I can easily add to the existing files? I also had the mass upload problem and a .css modification I made and don't want to undo the work I did to make it work in the first place. I can't install via package manager due to it simply not working with this mod on my server.

You can replace the files and run this query
UPDATE smf_mgallery_settings SET value = '1.1.5' WHERE name = 'version'

Would running db_mgallery.php do the same thing as they query? I'm not too savvy with myphpadmin...
