Uh what version are you running? If 1.0.2, it is sort of deprecated. 1.5 is what the newest is.

Smoky "Rider" Blue

ok i got this:

18.     SMF Media Gallery      1.0     ;)

thanks Dragoon..

Yeah, we're not providing support for v1.0, it's too different... Consider v1.5 as the official one-- even though it's still in RC, it's only in RC by name. It's solid enough to be used as a "final 1.5", and we're adding new features regularly. If we'd released the final version two weeks earlier like I was hoping to, we'd already be at v1.5.5 or something right now ;)
Anyway--v1.0 has issues, v1.5 has issues, but only v1.5 will get the fixes for these issues. It's so widely different from v1.0 that you can consider it a v2.0 actually...
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

My gallery displays the wrong number of clips in the album. Do you know how I might fix this ?

Manu.G

I have a question to the layout of the Gallery Summary in the Profile of the user.
It's only a layout problem with Firefox. In IE and Opera everything looks ok, but in Firefox the table "Top Albums" is at the "wrong" place.
How can I fix this "ugly" Firefox problem?

Looks like my request for help (back on page 22) got lost in the shuffle. *grin*

Well... a more pressing question now - WHERE is the batch upload feature? I cannot find it anywhere. In addition, there are a lot of "blanks" on the admin area of the gallery.

Example:

I click on ADMIN, then SETTINGS and scroll down the page.

The following lines are blank:

5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18.

Here... I'll post the lines:

Data directory path

Max files in a directory

Max size of a directory

Enable Re-Rating

[blank]

Enable cache

[blank]

Max file size

Max width

Max height

[blank]

[blank]

Max. thumb width

Max. thumb height

[blank]

[blank]

Over on the right I'll still see radio buttons and text boxes with data in them, but no clue what that data represents.

Plus, at the top, the first tab says CONFIGURATION and it looks like there's possibly 2 additional tabs, but they're blank. It looks like this:

Configuration  |    |

I'm running SMF 1.1.7 and SMG 1.5 RC 2. I've uninstalled and re-installed the mod, no change.

Thanks for your help.

What language do you use? you seem to be using an outdated language file. Also for the mass upload, it should be listed where the add item link is located.

Oddly enough, the support info page states my language files to be version 1.1. Why? I don't know. Aren't the language files also updated when doing a general SMF upgrade? If not, could you be so kind as to point me in the direction I need to go in order to get the language files updated (for English please).

As for the MASS UPLOAD link... I don't see it (maybe it's a language file issue?) I see two links:

Add item in this album      Edit

Being that there's a lot of space between the two, I'm guessing the mass upload link is supposed to be there, but it isn't because of language file issues. So, help with figuring out how to upgrade my language files would be appreciated. *smile*

Well Is there a /Themes/<your theme>/languages/MGallery.english.php? If so overwrite it with the one in the package, else, overwrite the one in default language folder with the package(Or just do both).

There is no <my theme> MGallery.english.php.

There is a <default> MGallery.english.php (date/time stamp is November 4).

Doesn't matter if I'm using my theme or the default theme. In either case I'm still showing blanks. Pardon me for being stupid, but which file am I overwriting with which? (unsure of what you mean by the "package" file) *smile*

Rob

The package file is the file which you download from the mod site. Extract it and upload the newer MGallery.english.php from /Themes/default/languages to yours. It is possible that it may have not been overwrote.

Also...Whats the language in Admin -> Server settings?

dannyd

Hi is there a snipped of code that I can put on the index.template.php that would show the most recent videos added ? Or any way to add the most recent on the home page ?

Thanks.

Ah... hold the presses... in the server settings it was "english-utf8." (Don't ask me why.) I changed that to English and POOF! it all showed up.

Unfortunately, any time I click on the "MASS UPLOAD" link it crashes my Firefox. I've tried it on two different computers - same results. If I use IE and click on the link, it says "error on page" on the status bar.

Dragooon, should we add UTF8 versions of the files? I'm not too fond of maintaining two exact versions of a same file just for people who don't know a thing about SMF's inner workings.... :-/

I have the same problem.
Firefox and Opera crash when using mass upload under SMF 2.0 beta 4, no problem for me with 1.1.7.
Hope it helps.

Thanks in advance (and thanks for the great mod too)

Yep, that's me - know very little about the inner workings of SMF. That is mainly due to unfortunate time constraints on my part. Thus I'm at the mercy of others to share their pearls of wisdom with me.

Fortunately, maintaining two exact versions of essentially the same file is little more than copying it and renaming it (all of about 5 seconds worth of work).

Rob,

If you are using FireFox 3, then the crashes may be PC related.
I also get a lot of FireFox crashes, but have used the mass upload, and it not crash mine.
It all depends on the pc, and the amount of memory things use, and not release.
This problem may very well be a FireFox problem, that can not be fixed by the SMF Media Gallery mod team.

Thanks. But it's an error either with SMF or SMG. It crashes Firefox and refuses to load in IE (I get an error message on the status bar).
