my issue im having with the gallery is my board moderators cannot see it or upload to it...but other members can... i have double and triple checked my permissions to no avail...

the change on the MGallery.php code fixed the issue with the image not showing up.
I also applied the change to MGalleryItem.php to get the direct image code working too.
all seems to be ok now, thank you very very much, you are doing a great work with this and making lots of people happy, all my users will be happy too, thank you once again.

(I'm glad we can put this problem behind. The only question being: why didn't this happen BEFORE? Because it's not specific to 1.5.4, @readfile has been in *all* 1.5 versions since the beginning.....)

Well, my previews still don't work. It must be a glitch with the ApolloBB theme so I'll see about changing that. Thanks for your help anyway.

Did you trying a hard reload? Try to copy the picture's direct link, paste it in your address bar and press F5 a few times.

That your moderators can't see the gallery either could be this issue:
The moderators has to be selected moderators as first choice in their profile, as permissions are inherited. I'm not quite sure if it counts for moderators, but that's the way it works for all other groups. Permissions are inherited.
So if regular members are not set up to view the gallery properly, and your moderators are set to be moderators as second group, they won't have access.

Does that one use the Default theme? Can they see the gallery with the default theme? Can they see the gallery if you give the direct link to the main gallery page?

yep it uses default..

ok so im not sure what the heck is going on but i selected moderate and access unseen and now they can see them...not sure why that worked but it did.

akyhne: Did you create the smileys in your signature? Do you realise the wink is incorrect? The smile should be more prominent on the side of the face that has the closed eye, not the other way around - it's humanly impossible!

As a sidenote--sorry, I don't use permissions a lot. It's more of Dragooon's territory so I'll leave it up to him if you don't find a solution in the meantime.

Hi,

I tried the fix

And it didn't work.
As a recap.
I was running fine on SMF 1.1.7 and SMF Media 1.5.2 with close to 3,000 pics loaded and Slideshow.
I upgraded to SMF 1.1.8 without problems.
I created another albums => no problems
I tried to load pics in the album => no pics would load
I uninstall Slideshow then Media 1.5.2
I installed Media 1.5.4 => thumbnails don't show, tried to run "Find errors" => no errors reported
I tried to regenerate thumbnails => error
"Error, file not found! (/homepages/17/d172373739/htdocs/forum/mgal_data/albums/Porsches_et_autres_belles_!/Dir_1/528__MG_1733_4_5_jpge604e555384b40a1ec6fd3ec0322ee4e_extjpg)"
Uninstall 1.5.4 then re-install 1.5.2 => same error

Your issue is not with the image's not displayed, you're gallery is screwed up as in mgal_data is not chmodded to 777 as well as its sub-albums and it is not able to create the album's folders. You ned to flush your gallery out and start all over again, make sure that you chmod mgal_data and its sub-folders to 777.

Well, I have an update.
Here's what I did after this post:
- deleted all my Albums (60 of them!)
- Uninstall Slideshow
- Uninstall Media 1.5.4
- Re-install Media 1.5.4
- Recreated about 10 Albums
- CHMODDed mgall and Sub dir to 777
- Loaded  about 1,000 pics
- Created 2 more albums
- Deleted these two albums
Then Paff no more thumbnails and the erorrs search gives me this message on almost all my file. 
The following errors were discovered when searching for errors

    * The physical file #12488, used with item #4347, is missing.
    * The physical thumbnail #12489, used with item #4347, is missing.
I tried the fix on Mgallery.php without success.

Anybody can help?

I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction if possible. Love the mod and all the great work and features you guys continue to add, and support you give us.
I sometimes host large video files. Upwards of 150 megs. When you go to the gallery enter the video section i've made, and see the video you want. Sometimes on larger files it seems it's locking up. Is this because the video size is too large? Or do you think it's because the video is trying to auto play? If its autoplay, is there a way to stop this?  That way the person can decided if they want to play or download the video?  Any ideas to lead me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated  Thx Christian

Holy moly...   Web Videos should not be larger than 30MB!
You are running into bandwidth issues...   the vidoe plays faster than it can stream from your site.

when i embed a video from youtube, the only thing i see is the link. Shouldn't i see the video instead? Or is this normal?

Make sure Aeva is installed. This is a known issue in SMG 1.5.4 if Aeva is not installed. I'll get started on it later. If I don't forget. Aeva should always be installed anyway, if you're into streaming videos on your website. Which is why I do my best to use Aeva instead of SMG's internal functions whenever possible, eheh.
