Sweet man, but in the next update can you make it so instead of general albums being one page a mile long - seperate general albums into pages of 10 albums per page? That would make this perfect.

SMF Media Gallery 1.5.6 released!

From the changelog
Version 1.5.6     April 5, 2009
-----------------------------------------------------------------
! Added preventive fix for Aeva 6.0 (embedded videos wouldn't be centered.)
! Exif data fixes
! User albums with child albums were screwing up pagination count
! Using BBC with apostrophes in title can screw up post in SMF 1
! Don't show HTML embed code if it uses SWFObject
+ Add "User albums" link to linktree if viewing a user album's index
! Fixed Quicktime support
! If Exif year is set to 1970, it's broken, so skip Exif date
! WMV player for Windows triggered an "access denied" error for everyone, apparently because it completely ignores cookies
! Fixed potential undefined error in embed object code
! Wmv files embedded via [smg] would always autoplay

That might be in 1.6, not in 1.5.7(If it ever comes out). I might look into implementing it.

Nao 尚

It'll be in 1.6 Beta at best.

Dragooon, you forgot to include this in the changelog... v1.5.6 = rev 806, right?

Rev 806
! Moved a block code within the core Subs.php file to fix audio/video embeds no longer working. (install-1.1.xml, install-2.0.xml, both branches)

Could be "! Audio/video embeds wouldn't play when using the smg tag"

Manually updating from 1.5.5 to 1.5.6 would be as easy as uploading and overwriting the mgallery folder in the theme folder and then running db_mgallery.php ? Or is there more to this particular update than the past 3...

@ttuu> Considering it's a new feature and a lot of work and I'm not interested in doing it -- at least $200. That's a feature in SGP which is worth $50, so if you can get everyone who requested that feature (a dozen users?) to shell out $20, you're done, I'll do it.

@LinK87> I made a last minute change in the install files to fix support for video/audio in [smg] tags, so you'll have to uninstall/reinstall.

Okay. I am willing to pay 20 dollars for it. If there is anyone else who wants will write.

I just talked to my wife who is very protective of her botanical photography and while I know how to do watermarking already, I'll pitch in 20 if we get enough contributors. Better do it quick though, pretty soon 200+ American dollars may not get you a candy bar  >:(

I have a watermark on my gallery now, All tho i keep getting referer errors, I may have interest in contributing, tho i would hate to see it free afterwards...

Anyhow i just upgraded to 1.5.6 I am still running smf 2.0 beta 4, In the  "List user albums" I can not seem to delete an album, it just go's back to the Albums/toggle all.

OK, either I am really missing or have misunderstood something or I have a problem with my install of this mod now.
When I go into an item and click on move under the assumption that I'm going to get options for moving that item to other albums, I instead get as the only option the moving of the entire album and that only to my one general album. The dropdown has only that one option and the dialog says moving album. (please see attachment) It doesn't seem like you should be able to move an album into another album anyway.

I did have v.1.5.5 on the server though not installed. I uninstalled 1.5.6 deleted both, redownloaded 1.5.6 and installed it all with no errors in the install dialog.

After the install, the gallery works fine overall as before, but the move function has not changed.

Also have these errors in the forum log though nothing showed up during the install:

I have literally been over every single edit for a manual install and they are all intact, even for my theme. I manually copied all the files from the package to their respective locations as well.
Again, the gallery works fine overall as before, but the move function has not changed. It doesn't matter if I try it as admin, even for a gallery I started as Admin, or under my wife's account for one's she owns. I don't see a permission specific to this function.

It's possible I just spent 15 minutes composing this tedious post for nothing because the errors are inconsequential and I'm just missing a setting somewhere, but I'm thinking not. Oh yeah, I also scoured this topic for something similar, but couldn't find anything.
Thank yooooo for reading this long post and any input.

EDIT: I saw this + Added ability for authors to move their items between user albums. WIP: need to implement general albums as well. (MGallery-Sub.php, MGallery.php) in your changelog several pages back, but also saw at the smg site a thread where a guy was saying that he had this same issue and you answered that the ability to move between user albums wasn't implemented yet as of that build. I'm assuming that the changelog entry above is in response to that.

BTW, this would be a great function, but isn't the end of the world and no errors have returned since the reinstall so don't take an inordinate amount of time on it for me unless it's something simple for you that's lost on me.
Thanks again.

Sighs, guess I schedule this update for one of my days off work.

Also, this weekend my host updated to mod_security2. Which royally fu(ked up my site. I was working with them for over a day on this. The solution was to comment out these 2 lines on my .htaccess:

SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off

and they added this one:

AddType application/x-httpd-php5 .php

As well they had to change all the folder permissions to 755 and file permissions to 644. As well they had to redo the ownerships.

At this point I thought the problems had been solved but I now have a new problem. Today someone tried to upload a file that was 17ish mb(largest to date but i have max set to 200mb). It timed out. I tried to upload it myself and got the same result with both a single file upload and mass upload. I've read about similar problems in this thread but wasn't able to track one down (at least not without scavenging for an extended period of time). What was the solution(s) for this issue?

Dragooon

A 17MB upload might just not be possible, because even if you got post_max_size/upload_max_filesize > 17M apache might time out.

Hello..

I am trying to install SMF Media Gallery on my site. The install went well but Nao on their site told me I also "need the PHP extension for ffmpeg to be installed, too"!
I asked.. "Where and how go about doing this?"  and his answer was"google".

Can someone plz tell me how to do this and do not give me an answer like Nao did on their site!

We are/were newbies at one time or another..so go easy on me and others that need help with this too!  :)

TIA

btw..
Plz accept my apology if this has been asked before

Are those .htaccess values? Or my values in the smg options? Or other? If so where can i check to see what they are set to and how are the values changed?

Holy crap, just type "php ffmpeg" on Google and don't start with that! It's the FIRST link that comes up!
We were all n00bs at one point yeah, but the first thing we learn is to use Google when we need to know something!
