I've installed the mod but it wont show up in the navigation bar where it should say ''Gallery'' Any Idea how I could get a link there? It does show up with the default SMF theme

Akyhne

You have to add the button manually in custom themes.

Any tips on how to do that?

Akyhne

It has been posted a lot of times. Look at http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1365, choose your SMF gallery version, then choose your SMF version and hit the "parse" button. It gives you a lot of code. Look for the code that should be inserted in index.template.php. That's your button code.
It may have to be edited to your custom theme, depending on how it looks.

A link to your forum, your SMF and SMF Gallery version is always a help for those you ask for support.

Hi,

basically this is one of the most useful mods here for SMF. I'd only like to request some modification to this mod.

First of all, the mass upload is nice to have, I'd rather welcome the choice to use either a single upload or the mass upload, controlled within the admin panel.
You can allow mass upload per-membergroup.
As for single uploads, can't disable them, because they're also the Edit page. You want to be able to edit your pages, right? Update the file / description / tags / thumbnails...

Well, of course I'd like to be able to update my uploads, but I can't see the point where the connection is from mass uploads and updating an uploaded image. It was only a suggestion that in the admin panel there should be at least a setting to restrict the amount of images uploaded at the same time. "1" would then make it to a single upload. Currently someone can upload tons of images with one upload. Never have seen such a feature anywhere else.

The next one is to be able to specify the extensions allowed to be uploaded.
Hardcode them into the source files...
I added a dozen (or more) new extensions in SMG 2.0 when I implemented the Documents feature. Which is basically the first step to a full-blown download manager. (Did I say too much? :P)
Hardcoding is one way to do it, to have a better mod giving you the full blast to modify and customize your board without hacking sources is the other way.

Not much, however, I could provide a deal. This mod lacks on a translation to German. Since I'm native, I could do this. Therefore you may think about my two requests. :D
Have you looked into the translations over at smf-media.com?
[/quote]
I did, I only see Turkish, Italian, Russian, 2x Spanish, Dansih and Greek there. No German translation so far as I see.

Uhm yeah sorry for not giving enough information the first time. The gallery is up and I informed my community members to use the default SMF theme to see the gallery.

Now I have got an other problem, members reported that they cant even see the button saying gallery, me and another administrator can see it and what not.

PAID feature Request

I know that asking for additional feature on this mod is a bone of contention. However I would like to run this on my main forum in place of the gallery I already have. However I need a feature added before I can do this and I am willing to pay for it.

This is what I need - When something new is added to the gallery I need it to post a thread in a specified forum area for that new upload like this

There is a german translation available

Where, haven't found it ...

Seems it was never uploaded to the download section. It was not packed, I did it for you... it's not tested, but should work.

Hmm... 'kay, I'm taking the option on this, I'll do it for money. You'll probably have to ask other users to help you with the payment because I'm not too cheap though. But there are only two programmers who could do it quickly and efficiently, and one of them isn't on the topic today.  O:)
I think I can work on it next Friday. Should give time to discuss what you need exactly, what you're willing to pay for, etc.

It depends on what you need, really.

Here's what I could do: each new album automatically creates a new topic in a specific board you set up.
Every time an item is posted to the album, the topic's first message is updated with a list of the latest thumbnails (or all thumbnails if there aren't that many items in the first place) and a link to the album page. A new post is also added, with a preview (not a thumbnail) of the item, and a link to the item.
One could also determine whether they want these topics to be locked, ie can people comment on them or not?

Is this how you envision it?
I could also update the smg tag so that it could be used to show a list of thumbnails based on an album ID. Like, [smg album=12 limit=50 sort=id order=desc] would show the last 50 thumbs in album #12. Not sure about sort and order. Album and limit would be done though. So I just need to insert a single smg tag in the topic's first message and be done with it (no need to update it).
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

Yes this sound more or less what we would want I just need to discuss it with my forum staff as well. Could you give me a price on this before I take it to them please  ;D

For these features... I'd say around half a day of work... If everything goes well, uh uh. My daily rates are $200. So I'll say $100 and it's fair enough. That's the equivalent of 2 copies of SMF Gallery Pro, right? Just get some people to split it with you.

Now please just tell me if your friends agree on my suggestions. I've thought about it overnight and I still think it's the best implementation I could come up with.

Got a strange error here. When I try to up a file I get this:

Error, file not found! (/home/cofexm/public_html/SMF2Test/mgal_data/albums/First_test_album/Dir_1/7_beerwench_jpg4a9b6affbc2a58e87d301724372773a9_extjpg)

File is way under the size limit. Path to mgal_data is correct. Permission on First_test_album/Dir_1 is 755 (which is what the mod created it as). All folders above that are 777.
