Fel

I mean a simple test "ad" composed only of a line of text. I am a newbie here, this is all quite confusing to me, sorry.

Please don't ridicule me or condescend; the 2.0 RC2 was installed by someone else who is not available now...

PowerBob - when I go to the downloads page, it shows 2.0 RC2... Is this different from the 2.0 RC2 that I had installed 12 days ago? How can you tell?

If your RC2 was installed twelve days ago it should be the correct version, as the public release was fifteen days ago. If it says RC2 Charter Preview in the footer (like this site) then it should be upgraded.

Anyway regarding the ad management mod, from vague memory that mod inserts ads anywhere on your forum, which is not related to PMx as such. I think it has admin settings that enable you to insert ad codes but I suggest asking in the support thread for that mod.

Thanks. It does not say "Preview" at all, so I should have the correct latest version.

As regards Ads Mod and PortaMx Mod ... I was told that (at the time) the Ads mod would not work with Curve, but that PortaMx would do what I wanted:

<php ad code> in the header of every page. To date, I have not been able to get *anything* to display from PortaMx onto our site; the control panels seem straightforward, but something is missing somewhere...

Are you turning the blocks on after creating them? By default they are turned off immediately after being made, so that people can play with things without blocks appearing all over the place. You have to switch them on before they will display.

Yes... But how/where?

I was told "the lock/unlock icon in overview" - but I do not see such an icon...

Ah, I found the lock icon - jeez, you youngsters with eyes that work well... LOL

So I set up "statistics" in the "header panel" and enabled it with the lock icon --> check mark...

But I still see Nothing like that on my actual forum header....

You have the block enabled and the panel is active and not collapsed?

Hello Feline

I have a small issue with your 0.961-1 version which seems to be odd.

When guests try to access my frontpage (which is btw, main page of my forum) they get this error:

QuoteTemplate Parse Error!
It seems something has gone sour on the forum with the template system. This problem should only be temporary, so please come back later and try again. If you continue to see this message, please contact the administrator.

You can also try refreshing this page.

It does not happen to members. And there is only one BBC block (with additional register menu link) which is different comparing to that what members are seeing.

When I remove frontpage (and go directly to forum) guests are not shown any errors. From my experience it seems that frontpage is the only page which have this sort of error because everything else is loading just fine for guests and asks for login. I believe so because I even tried forum/index.php?action=frontpage page and it loads for members but for guests they get same error.

Single pages loads fine as well with that specific guests BBC block so I guess that block doesn't cause any troubles as it contains just plain URL, SIZE and COLOR tags.

I will provide you my forum/index.php file here as I believe something is wrong there.

The only thing that's odd to me is that I haven't installed any new block for about two weeks or more and I even tried to remove last one but I still get the same error. But then again my last registered member is 2nd of Dec so I guess he was able to access frontpage as a guest.

None has admin access but me and I'm running RC2 1.2 SMF on Core template.

Any ideas?

feline

A link to your forum would be help ...

The default installation works?

Fel

Yes, everything worked fine for about two months.

I'm sending you PM with link of my forum and test account (hope you don't mind), not sure if it's safe to give it in public?

Hi,

I wanted to give it a try ( Thx to Antechinus's signature :) ) on my following test site but even though it seemed to have installed it without any single problem, the site was unreachable afterwards.

I replaced the index.php with the one from backup and I could see the site again.

There were tons of errors on string pmx_admBlk_panels in Admin.php and I realised the language of the site would be the reason. Instead of renaming the files to *.turkish-utf8.php I changed the site's default language to English and re-put the index.php that was modified during installation but nothing seemed to change ..

Anything I should keep an eye before reinstalling again ?

I don't known what's wrong, but I think the installation is't successfully.
If you want to use PortaMx, then you can send me a PM with a Admin access and a ftp access. Then we can take look at your problem and make PortaMx to work.

I am pretty sure I have seen it displaying the installation was succesful and I would be redirected to homepage in a countdown.

Since it is a test site I can send the informations when I make them ready..

Feline,

Registration to your site was so hard that I had to abandon.

I have tried several combinations of password but it didnt accept and each time I had to fill the form almost from the beginning.

I thought my site was hard to register but yours beat it :)

MazdaClubTR

Since I can not register to your forum I will try to get support from here.

As you can see from the link below, the portal has compatibility issues with Ad Management ( Which I am really taking serious )

http://www.mzdclbtr.com/index.php?action=forum

The left modules keep itself above the forum grid and it narrwos the ad space

What I really think it should look like is in my production site.
