Hi there,
i have two question, I've look for an answer, but i lose the point.
1) How do I can create a file language for this shoutbox ?
I simply copy and paste the one of the package and renamed it, but it doesn't work, the problem is on my admin panel, because i can administrate the shoutbox only if the default server language is english. So how can I make a language file for it ?

2) How do i embed the shoutbox to my template. I've look for an xml or mod file, but i only found package-info.xml but it don't seems to have the info to change my template. Can you help ?

When myself ( admin ) or members or moderators view the whos online and people are using the shoutbox i get this error:

Unknown Action (Action: shoutbox -> get)

Can this be changed to Viewing shoutbox.

Or when a member or admin is viewing homepage of forum i get : Viewing board index of .

instead of : viewing board index of exoticforums.co.uk


Can anyone help me change this please??? Thanks in advance.

If you want a language file other than English You'll have to manually translate the text strings in the english language file and rename it to the language you translated it to.

2: you'll need to manually edit the /Themes/"your theme"/index.template.php

For the first question I do not have an answer, but for the second:

Go to server settings in your admin panel and fill in the Forum Title.

By the way you have some spelling mistakes that need attention.

Maximium message's lenght - should be length in all cases of that word.

I know, but actually I don't recive any help with it... I'm not an english speaker... so you can see how is it xD

Yeah thx JulesW, you solved the problem of the template, thx a lot.
I still have a dubt about the language file, because I want to translate only the  file related to the admin panel, and i dunno what i wrong uploading the new file.
The problem is : if i translate the file rename and upload it doesn't work, but i think Shoutbox.english.php is the file for main page, not admin page, am i right ? So where is the admin file ?

Okay thankyou JulesW, Ive now fixed the board index problem.


But when viewing whos online i get this when people are using shoutbox :

Shoutbox.... can this be changed to Viewing the shoutbox??? or Using the shoutbox???

So where is the admin file ?

The admin part is also in the shoutbox.english.php file. Its divided into different parts, one of which is admin panel and another admin settings.

You can translate only that part of the file, but than you should not rename it, and overwrite the original one on the server. That way, all text strings will be in English, but the admin part will be in the language you translated it to.

i installed this mod using smf 2 rc1.2 using default them is ok. however using custom theme it is not showing. here is the index template file.

Everything appears to be working in the shoutbox except the sound button

What you mean with "except the sound button"?? It doens't work??
Remember that sound only plays while getting new messages (it means new messages from "other" users, not you)

Ok, from now, I will be fixing all bugs you guys report and will also respond to any question. I already uploaded a new version with several bugs fixed, so tell me if there is any problem there.

Ohhh, I forgot, you wont need to uninstall - reinstall to upgrade version any more. I finally learn how to upgrade xD !! so DON'T uninstall or you will lose all old data...

I installed shoutbox on my forum over a month ago now, and everything worked ok, and today when i try to post anything its not allowing anyone to post or view messages ??

Nothing has been touched since then its just stopped working???, Hope you can help me fix this problem.

mod has been updated to resolve problem in IE8 but is equal with the same problem, does not work in internet explorer.

My shoutbox has been working fine for a month now, and nothing has been modded or touched since then.

But now no one can post or see any messages in shout. I get the loading images in top left of shout ( clock ), And that stays there and doesnt load the shoutbox messages or let anyone even admins post or see any messages in there.

Works fine here. Make sure you select the Shoutbox_2.0.2.zip before clicking the parse button.
